Ok, so have some history with the bb, he begun by letting me take his blind every round from button, but he has been taking offence to it of late reshipping his 20 bb stack a few times... Now he just had a double up a few hands ago and I have a feeling he wants to play back at me this time around....

Is this ok to 4bet call or too spewy and I should just fold?

depends on texture

sometime i shove sometimes fold

problem with this hand is i havent gotten all the info you would have

on a low flop when its likely both have missed i will shove over his 10k

hoping to get better aces to fold but i think this is one of those hands you really

need all the info you can get

i am assuming this is 3 handed on FT or has the hh been cut for just the players involved

with nearly 60 bigs i just think A8 isnt strong enough to get it all in pre you are rarely big favourite

and you have a better chance of getting him to fold better hands on eh flop than you have pre

makes a little difference you are both well stacked i might fold pre loof for something better but i lstill prefer calling to get it in on flop rather than getting it in pre i just dont see many hands he would shove with that your in good shape against but alot of hands he will c bet with then fold once you shove over him  on flop

i would be intrested in some of the shrewdies and flushy views here

how far from money are we and how far from FT this might lead me to taking a 60/40 (if i have him on suited paint) if i am along way from home

We are in money with 45 left. $18k ftw we have about $400 locked. CL at this point has 150k.

i am more inclined to fold pre to the reraise
though player dependant i still like the flop shove

given the dynamic i dont mind your play - but I am rarely doing it with an Ace.

The main problem for me is it looks like you have FE with 30k effective behind so it looks kinda expolitable cause i guess you dont want to call his 5bet jam? even with 30%? I know you would be getting 2:1 on a call but blinds are still small enough to make it look like there is FE

The fold equity thing is made worse by the fact you have more than he does too.

Unless you are in your head committed to calling then i raise fold

Why do you think villain is "taking offence"?

I like it.

As evidenced above though, villain might think he can get you off hand so is there room for shoving rather than 4 bet-calling?

If he let you take his blind for so long he's probably a nit and may let go hands as big as JJ is you shove pre?

Rookie, I like your thinking here but A8s is a terrible hand to do it with.  The hands you induce jams from like QT/QJ/JT loads of other broadway combos, small PPs etc have good equity against you!  A better plan would be to jam over his 3 bet since given the dynamic hes probs folding >70% of the time or something and fold out all those hands and take down the pot pre.

This would be a good spot to induce with a hand like AJ since you dominate a lot more hands that you induce light jams from.

he only has 40bb so im generally just 4b jamming cos once u make a 4b that size is pretty obv ur not folding cos ull be getting like 3 to 1 so he should only be shoving for value and A8 obv doesnt do well against a 5b value range
