I have just started using FireFox and everytime I check emails via MSN messenger it keeps on opening an Internet Explorer window, not a FireFox one. I've set Firefox as my preferred default browser but it still keeps on happening???

Thanks in advance

Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft?
Of course not.

I think you will find MSN is always going to use explorer. Microsoft likes to keep it that way. I also use Firefox, By far the best brower out there, much faster load times.

Straight from the horses mouth as it were:-

Actually this is by design. Links will open in the default browser, but Hotmail, Spaces,
etc. will load into Internet Explorer.

Do a big uninstall of everything you don't think you will need as well ... and then run defrag once you have done that.

We all collect a lot of clutter on our HD that we rarely use.

Depending on the age of your hard drive, it may be beneficial to get a new HD.  I just bought one with 8Mb cache instead of the 512Kb that I had before and the speed difference is superb.  Dirt cheap these days too.  250Gb for £80 to replace my 20Gb drive.

Maybe a no brainer but make sure its at least 7,200 rpm. I know 5,400 are very very rare these days but some unscruptuous people might try to palm one off on you. 10,000 rpm are nice, but a little noisy unless you splash the cash.
