Rhodesy, the Tuesday night donkament is a pile of pap, albeit it's cheap (£30) and dealer dealt.

You'll find the likes of USADennis there calling in the oppo's gutshot card on the turn with a pistol-whip yee-haw.

Very crappy, 8.30pm start, 3x1500 chips.

Anyway, on to the MAJOR news that's been bubbling under all day...

The league has a NEW leader. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you...Missssster Drrrrrrrrain Aaaaaaaalien!

Mr Alien faced the elders in a panel interview yesterday morning and, despite sporting different widths of pin stripe on his jacket and trousers (a major faux pas at league headquarters), created quite a buzz.

His recent record for posting non-stop guff and annoying Birdforum were both viewed as strong positives among the brethren, and on balance it was felt that these assets outweighed the negatives - poor use of checkboxes, incorrect use of the word 'sure', the inability to scroll stuff etc.

So today saw the initiation ceremony, during which Brother Alien and Sister Alienetta were presented with Enfield Municipal gold swipe cards and banquet robes.

I can't remember ever seeing Sweaty Terry shed a tear at an induction before. It was all very, very emotional.

I have now left No.10 Enfield Row and Mrs Alien has already put up the new curtains.

So it's out with the old and in with the new. Perhaps there will be more animation japes and nicknamery from our new guvnor, more British Gaseses, more Malcolm the rugs, more Matrix Twins, who knows?

It's a bold new era, the time for change, the time for new ideas under a new leadership.

I'm welling up now...I've guided this league through its infancy, seen it take its first steps, watched in awe as it was shoved up Birdforum's kilt, seen that handsome young Alex take it on its first date. He told me he got some but I doubt it, I brought the league up to have strong moral values. Four-betting light doesn't impress my league, oh no.

No, no, thrice no. This is not a time of commiseration, this is a time to celebrate.

Article 3a(iii)(ix) on Drainy's new manifesto reads as follows:

"During this period of change there are to be no snap removals of leagueites from the league table. While the elders understand that Chompy was a hero figure to many participants, it is felt a 'bedding-in' period is required before major decisions are undertaken."

I understand the heartbreak resonating around the home counties region but the Drainy/Drainetta coalition will put this league back where it belongs.
