Gonna post a brief round up of the last few tournaments... i'm sure no-one is TOO interested, so i'll try and be a bit brief.
Friday:
I have always liked this tournament and was looking forward to playing it; a nice structure and traditionally not the most talented player base. I went into this tournament feeling good and felt like I played well, but in the end it all felt like a bit of an anticlimax.
Had two raise-fold spots which left me a bit short- one in particular: An unknown player (to me) limped from early pos at 50/100, we both had stacks of around 9k. There were 2 more limps after him, and I popped it up to just over 500 with

, getting a call from Mr Unknown (i'll refer to him as Mr X) and the other limper. The

flop was checked to me, I led for 1250 into the pot of 1750 (slightly larger than usual but I wanted to chase out any strange draws/charge the high flush draws). Mr X called and the other limper folded. The pot was now 4150.

on the turn, and curiously Mr X leads into the pot, betting 2000. I still have an overpair to the board and he has bet less than half the pot, so I decided to call and see what he did on the river. The river was something like the

and Mr X quite quickly bets 3000, leaving himself around 2500 behind. I wish the guy wasn't a complete unknown to me, would have been nice to have something to base my decision on other than just his actions in this hand. He limped preflop, so any small pair I'm including in his range then, also a few A-low cards of clubs. Personally at the time it felt more likely to me that he had flopped a set of 3's or 5's, and had just played it strangely by check-calling the flop. Check calling the flop then leading the turn and river, on the other hand, does seem to indicate a flopped flush. As for hands he could be bluffing with, if he had

with another card that wasn't a club, I understand the check calling of the flop, but it would be very unusual to commit so many of your chips on the turn and river.
This hand left me with around 6000. I forgot to mention before that our lovely random draw system had put a jovial Brijesh Das on my immediate left, which, while it was entertaining, got pretty frustrating when I had lost a few chips. Generally I would tighten up my opening range a bit once i'd lost a big pot, but I was forced to tighten it up even more than usual as Das was flatting everything! He actually played very well in that tournament imo- used his image very nicely. Unfortunately for me, after putting my patient hat on for a while, I found the

with 5.5K left. There was an UTG limper at 150/300, so I 4x'd to 1200. Das made it 7k with a flourish, and I remember thinking at the time that he looked pretty strong. It folded back around to me and I thought about folding for a bit, but quickly realised that I had to call 4300 to win 11000 (2.5/1), so folding wasn't a question. He had the queens and the board bricked out.
I've got to get some stuff done today, so will write Saturday's/Sunday a bit later.
