A post on behalf of Mini Drainy (the logging in and typing challenge is obv too much for him!)

Is there a separate thread for the upcoming APAT visit to the G? If so, where is it plz.
And is it sold out already?

Tks in advance

       Drainy Senior, for Drainy Junior.

there's an APAT news thread on this board.  sold out I think, but seats available via seat exchange board on the APAT forum, or he can try his luck as an alternate on the day.  Nirvana is playing, so there should be at least one spot available in the first couple of levels.

Just tell him to get there early on Saturday (when doors open) and put his name on Tighty's list.

The £75 Amateur has 150 runners currently and is sold out, except I might get an extra table for some more seats. These will go on sale from midday on the day of the event

Alongside that there is a £250 PLHE 2.30pm Saturday. About 30 runners typically, GUKPT Main event seat added for the winner

Meanwhile I note that complete egg Robert Rainhorne (a complete rookie who I am convinced had never played live or online before last night) won last night. I am not sure I wll ever be mentally tough enough to describe his play, or my exit. Half comic, half desperate, I was gutted.

Two tables left

Play has been mental. Completely barmy. Apart from Carlo Citrone's Mum who would have passed Aces pre unless she had trips pre-flop, Rockstar who has just departed in a blaze of muttered expletives when his shove is limp called by 6-3 suited, dogracer and myself we've handled Flaum for several levels, assorted randoms and survived

Table ambience included celtic, Rockstar, dogracer and I having a 20 minute debate on the complexities of a suicidal open shove by Far Eastern lady with 25,000 at 400-800, and an instant call all in by Mr Rainthorne from the blinds with Ace high.

Its 400-800, 15 left 5 paid

I have 17,000

I find Aces under the gun. Of course any thinking players will know that a limp there from that stack from me has to be a hand. Fortunately two factors work in my favour. Half the table doesn't have the capacity to think and dogracer in the small blind has just lost a big pot and about to shove a lot of hands, I feel

I limp.

Mr Rainthorne, who looks like Churchill the dog but also looks like he is in another timezone, limps. He's been called up for string betting 5 times in the comp. Has never failed to miss posting his blinds. Has put chips in to limp having missed a raise in front on at least a dozen occasions too

Old fella limps the button too and hey presto Dogracer shoves from the small blind

I limp-shove, get it heads up and bingo I think!

Mr Rainthorne looks at Dogracer's stack and says call, throwing 4,000 in.

Nico the dealer, who lost the will to live a level earlier and is rolling his eyes like he's on an intravenous drip of liquid nitrogen, points out my stack to him, and Mr Rainthorne's mouth opens like a sperm whale about to swallow an ocean load of Krill

He of course has to call my bet, 17,000 out of a now 30,000 stack

45,000 pot.

dogracer K-Q

Me A-A

Mr Rainthorne A-9

flop 9-9-Q

Rainthorne wins the comp

There, I can forget about it now

Crazy scenes all round last night. Andy Liew got the world and then lost the universe, running KK into Jason Spring's AA, Tighty had a mini-explosion after gifting Robert Rainhorne, who TID with the MOF, all his chips, and The Flaumster managed to cash one spot in front of Andy Black.
Bet sizing was a problem on a crazy opening table. Random east European donk turned up late and re-plopped Boer Wars' 150 rise to...1200. This was called out of the SB, who checked the nine high flop before calling an all-in shove (QQ) with AK. Absurd.
Anyhoo, the upshot is 6pts to Boer Wars and heartache all round for the others.

nice description written with a touch of comedy too! - but all true i'm afraid. can't believe he went on to win comp

He got my chips too. Shove-monkeyed QK for 10x and he sure didn't wake up with AK.
Didn't realise what had transpired at your table. Wish I'd been paying more attention. As Tighty suggested Churchy might want to do in future. "You can't believe anything he says. Told me last night he couldn't lay down an ace. Oh, no, no, no, no, no."

The good news is that Mr Churchill will certainly be back now that he's won some cash, as he obv has some poker "skills".
Just remember Mr End revenge is sweet.

Wp to James and also to Springy.

We need a new name for this Monday evening - TV's Miss Lisa-Marie Long & the Fish that is Richard Orford will both be present. Plenty of tittage, however you look at it.

What price Chompy casually strolling in once he knows LML is there?

"If I must, sigh......"
