OK - from a personal point of view I would have no problem with my g/f playing poker - infact not only would i encourage her but i also think she would be good.
She reads people unbelievably in real life situations from the smallest of details (and no its not just a woman thing).
She has great gut feel, and the other day from nowhere (when Im playing) (and she only understands the asbolute basics of how the game is played - like not even hand rankings properly)
"oh look you have flopped 2 pr" (i have KT on a KQT board)
i muttered somethign about being about to loose the hand - when she says
"yes but you have card removal so it is unlikely he has you beat right now"
i nearly fell over. She knows nothing about poker really and comes out with that?!??!?!!?
OK - so it could be just a conincidence - but the fact she was even thinking like that made me think she should at least give the game a go?
thoughts?

Sounds like your fiance would be ideal, BUT do you really want your life to be one long poker story? You could be in danger of letting poker consume your relationship - at least at first anyway. Personally, I love it that me and my fella have mostly separate activities/jobs/hobbies. And that I wouldn't dream of boring him with poker crap, like he wouldn't dream of doing the same with golf shite......  |
