Full Tilt Poker Million VIII final live on Friday

Final Turbo heat and two semi-finals from Tuesday on Sky Sports

The Full Tilt Poker Million VIII reaches its conclusion on Sky Sports this week, with the second turbo heat and two semi-finals preceding Friday’s live final at 7.30pm on Sky Sports 2 where the winner will walk away with $500,000.

Tuesday’s Turbo heat gives six more runners-up from the second-half of the 12-heat tournament the chance to claim the final spot in the second semi-final. The turbo airs at 10.15pm on Sky Sports 2 with Gus Hansen, Antonio Esfandiari, Christian Harder, Bradley Craig, Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Michael Tureniec the half-dozen hoping to claim the last place in the semis.

Online qualifier Peter Vasiliou won the first Turbo heat to join Annette Obrestad, Luke “Full Flush” Schwartz, Nam Le, two-time finalist Tony Bloom and Paul Zimbler in the first semi-final, which is on Wednesday night at 9pm on Sky Sports 3.

Tuesday’s Turbo winner will join WSOP final tableist James Akenhead, online sensation Tom “Durrrr” Dwan, Taylor Caby, four-time WSOP bracelet winner David Chiu, Dag Martin Mikkelsen and Daniel Bowden in the second semi-final on Thursday night at 9pm on Sky Sports 3.

“The Poker Million final is always one of the most exciting dates for the poker diary,” said Eddie Hearn, managing director of Matchroom Sport. “We staged poker's first ever live televised final back in 2000 and since then it's been an event that all the top players want to take down. With the likes of Tom Dwan, Nam Le, Luke Schwartz, Annette Obrestad, Juha Helppi and James Akenhead in the semi finals, Friday night is set to be an electric night of poker."

Never watched the final in the past i take it there is a 5 minute delay to allow for graphics of hole cards and betting.
Would love to see a combination of durrr, Full Flush Annette and Gus at the final. Would be good to see Full Flush against more of the big players live as his Late Night Poker final performance left a lot to be desired.

press release

Esfandiari completes Poker Million semi-final line-up

MOUTH-WATERING LINE-UP gunning for Friday’s live final

Antonio Esfandiari took down the second turbo heat of the Full Tilt Poker Million VIII to complete the semi-final line-up ahead of Friday’s live final on Sky Sports 3 at 7.30pm.

“The Magician” saw off a high-quality field in Gus Hansen, Christian Harder, Michael Tureniec and Yevgeniy Timoshenko to get heads-up with Bradley Craig, with Esfandiari’s pocket sevens holding up against Craig’s K-2 to see Antonio take his place in the second semi-final.

Esfandiari joins a star-studded line-up on Thursday night at 9pm on Sky Sports 3, taking on WSOP final tableist James Akenhead, online sensation Tom “Durrrr” Dwan, Taylor Caby, four-time WSOP bracelet winner David Chiu, Dag Martin Mikkelsen and Daniel Bowden.

Before they take to the table, the first semi-final airs tonight on Sky Sports 3 at 9pm, with Annette Obrestad, Luke “Full Flush” Schwartz, Nam Le, Juha Helppi, two-time finalist Tony Bloom, Paul Zimbler and Peter Vasiliou in action.

The finalists and the chip-counts:

Luke Schwartz 397k
James Akenhead 338k
Taylor Caby 202k
Dag Martin Mikkelsen 160k
Peter Vasiliou 154k
Juha Helppi 149k
'Online qualifier' 100k

The last time I got even remotely excited for this was the one where Marty Smyth finished second to Joe Beevers.

Blue Square, Paddy Power and Skybet have odds up but they don't know who the online qualifier is. Who is the qualifier?

There hasn't been much decent hype for this has there?

Why yeah right?

I'm not saying I think he'll win, but I think he's the most backable looking at the prices.

He has to play more than 4% of hands first!

He has to play more than 4% of hands first!

You don't think he's received coaching etc since he made the final?

Also, chipleader has less than 40bbs. He has 15.

Doesn't have to play every pot now.

I'd not looked at the prices, but can see why you might have a bet on him..
Although I can't see him taking it down, but in a way I hope he does..
Gives us all hope.. Lol
looking forward too watching it...

He is the British Moneymaker if he gets to the last 2 or 3 everyone is gonna root for him especially if he is against Schwartz or Caby.
An each way bet wouldnt be the worst idea for him

Mikkelsen is the best player on the table at this format(as long as online qualifier isn't a sng wizkid)
