Derek Lawless, short-stacked pushes with

Paul Gardener calls on the button with

board   and Lawless doubles up to 100,000

Interesting situation on the same table

After Waheed Ashraf limps pre-flop, Phillip Patrick checks his option in the blinds

After the board comes out Q-2-8-8-Q and with betting all the way we have a 60,000 pot

Waheed has bet 20,000 on the river

Patrick announces "I think you are bluffing" and calls, quite optimistically as it happens, with 2-3 off.

Interesting point actually.

In times past when the main games were 5-card stripped-deck stud if you called with a hand that could not win you were not able to lose and got your money back, but some wise-guys would use the call as a stroke making their opponent show their hole card and then getting their money back.

What is the rule today ?

A pre-flop limper, Waheed Ashraf raises 25,000

Phillip Patrick calls

Limper goes away

flop 10-4-5

Patrick makes it 40,000

Wadey makes it 100,000

Patrick says "Call" and then says "Raise" so obviously the call has to stand

Turn 3

Patrick all in

Wadey calls

Patrick A-10

Wadey K-K

Wadey's hand holds, and he is up to 800,000 a monstrous chip leader
