If it's any consolation, you don't look overweight at all Tom.

Love,

Greek fat boy.

Dietary requirements are a notion of transient digressions that impinge on our otherwise mundane existence. They are to be embraced for what they are, a period in our lives that, whilst salving a fleeting cranium misadventure, are what make us the people we are. We are people of the world and we should rejoice in the fact.

Happy Christmas Tom and all yours – enjoy the festive period and may next year be as happy and fulfilling as it can be.

Thank you Mr Duke.

Mrs Red and I are alone. For the first time in over 30 years, there are no children here.

Suddenly, I'm poignantly aware that this is a milestone. I'm filled with conflicting emotions.

It reminds me of something my dad used to say.

Gather your rosebuds while you may,
for time it is still flying,
and this same flower that blooms today
tomorrow will be dying.

Now you need to understand that this wasn't said in a melancholy way, but usually with a grin when we were laughing and having fun. it was a reminder to us wring as much pleasure as possible out of every day

Merry Christmas everyone.

A mantra that should be repeated every morning we awake... be safe
