early in $50 cubed no history with villain and even hero hasn't done any spew yet
blinds 15/30 (have to type out hh sry)
villain limps from early out of ~2k stack
hero raises to 120 from cutoff out of 3k stack with
only villain calls
flop:
villain checks, hero bets 200, villain calls
turn:
villain checks, hero bets 450, villain calls
river:
villain shoves for ~1.3k, hero
??
the pot on the river was slightly more than his stack. if villain checked river i would of probs bet again but dunno wtf he has here, can't be

I check back the turn as well I think. Not sure I'd be getting 3 streets of value from a worse hand and it gives the other guy an opportunity to bluff if he thinks we were just cbetting.
As played I think I fold to this. Not sure what we're beating here really. JT got there. We beat QT and T9 but apart from that... I'm mainly worried now because his shove is about pot sized. Given you've fired twice he probably feels that you're not folding, but doesn't want to check again incase you check behind.

As the action is described, I suggest a fold, he has you beat IMO. maybe 333 full, which fears a check behind on the river?

Hero call ftw.
You don't have to worry about running out of chips because you can buy a few more.

i bet the turn as OP. think checking the turn is pretty bad.
also dont like the squeeze at 15/30 the pre adon stage in the cube tournies is all about getting paiiiiiiiiiiiid with big hands by the dead wood.
as played i call.

Can you elaborate on why checking turn is bad Rick?
What hands do you expect villain to show most often when you call on the river?

well, villain is obv tez limp calling pre, and jamming riv. Checking the turn is bad because a boat load of his range is small/mid pairs and checking the turn loses value from betting and getting called. Any hand that cals the flop is calling the turn after the board pairs, its like throwing money down the drain checking as we figure to have the best hand and know we will get called.
I dont feel a check here gets us paid on the river as opposed to a bet, in some cases it will but in this one a bet is pretty clear best option for me. When he jams the river im just not giving him credit for JT here, some real retarded hands could show up like 88/99 villian is obv a clown so we can never be surprised. If i call and am wrong i bash myself for being this active at 15/30 witth KT and think of it as a lesson learnt. Obv over call or fold is best line pre.

Thanks for that Trigger, good reply.
My thinking a lot is to check the turn and induce a bluff on river / check call for when we are beat as I don't think we can get 3 streets from a mid pair so we're still getting 2 streets, but controlling the pot a little better. If checked to on the river a bet might look quite bluffy and get called by those mid pairs too. Is this bad thinking?
