Im pretty sure some of you guys are web site designers.

I have a new business idea which requires a New Logo to be designed and a simple website.

What kind of costs am I looking at for

1. Logo design
2. 3/4 page website - no heavy content - mostly site logo - big clickable buttons and text
3. a link to a payment site which takes credit cards (such a yahoo etc?)

any info appreciated, and I am very serious about getting this going and quickly.

cheers

Guy

I use these people - £50 set up and £7.50 per month thereafter. They will design logos etc. http://www.therapywebgenie.com/

What's the site for?
How are you going to get visitors to it?
You want to take payments - via a third party (have you considered chargebacks, etc., or are they irrelevant?) I assume so you don't have to store/deal with card payments?

Some say you get what you pay for, but for a simple 'brochure-ware' site you don't have to pay extortionate amounts.  However, if you are in a competitive market and want your site to outshine competitors' sites, then you might have to spend a few pennies.

I want the logo to be super professional because the brand could take off.

Payment will be by credit/debit card and details preferably retained.

It will be a subscription based web site, but subscription is annual.

Can't really say what it is about other than that. There is no competition in the market and it shouldn't be easily replicated.

Site will need to look very good, but it won't need any fancy functions!

Go to Digital Point forums, then set up a logo competion and a price you will pay for the best design.
Some amazing designers on there.
Very good value normally.

I use a company called Ink Creations, really friendly people and they do some work for people like David Lloyd etc

You want the credit card processing to be linked into your site, you dont want people being transferred out to pay, it looks unprofessional.

Super professional logos dont sell anything either. If your idea is good enough anything half recogniseable will do.

Ive taken a guess at what your site is about and my logo is below

If  you are only looking for a few pages mate don't pay to much as its a very cheap set up

1) buy your own website name www.123-reg.co.uk   about £2.99 a year
2) i would use a site call    http://wordpress.org/   Very easy to use and will host your site for Free or a very small Rate
3)  i would have all your logos make up form www.leedscreativedesign.co.uk  and then they will be very easy to upload to your site

if you have the skills and creative ideas then you can do it yourself, otherwise it will end up looking totally shit like 99.9% of websites out there.

what is wrong with paying someone to do a decent job ?
