What are the sushi restaurants people would recommend? And restaurants in general? Idea of prices would be good too.
Also wanna know what shows people think are a must out there? I definitely want to see Cirque Du Soleil but I may wanna see one or two others. What's the best magic show?
This is a couple posts from 2p2 giving a rundown on their view of Sushi in Vegas. One of whom is ZeeJustin who I think is a pretty big food nut.
Nobu (and it's not even close)
Followed by in order
Sen of japan > osaka > okada > naked fish > roku
Lots of great places mentioned in this thread, but nothing in Vegas is in the same tier as Nobu.
The only "bad" thing about Nobu, is that it's possible to "order poorly" there. If you don't know what to get, ask the waiter. Get the new style sashimi, and the black cod lettuce wraps. If you are baller, get the Wagyu beef tataki style (v. expensive but vvv. good). They also have the best oysters I've ever had, and often have perfect Toro.
As for the rest... Okada is great but overpriced, and many of the best things there aren't sushi. Definitely a contender for 2nd best in Vegas, but still overpriced.
Nakedfish is very reasonably priced, and is off the strip which can be a huge pro or a huge con depending on what you are looking for. Has lots of rolls with crazy spicy fried things in them, but the pure fish quality is good enough that you can get nothing but sashimi and sitll have a great meal. I highly recommend their fresh wasabi, and their mushroom appetizer.
Only been to Ilovesushi once because it's far away, but the price value was amazing. I expected the quality to suck because of the price and sizes of the portions, but it really didn't at all.
Kaizen is cool, especially if you like crazy rolls with all kinds of **** in them (I don't). Also a good place to take a date if she likes loud dance music (I don't).
Went to Sen of Japan for my first time the other night. The Omakase was overpriced, but the happy hour menu was a great deal. Some of the foods compare to Nobu, like the black cod lettuce wraps, but others don't. The fish quality seems to be a bit lower too.
Only ordered Osaka, and haven't eaten at the restaurant, but it seems on par with nakedfish in terms of both quality and cost. They have more cooked tepanyaki options.
I'm a big fan of Hyakumi at Caesar's. It's basically the same menu that Shintaro had, but IMO everything on it is better.
Sushi Samba has some great dishes. The miso glazed sea bass served on top of corn was amazing. Unfortunately other dishes suck, and it's overpriced.
Yellowtail has good fish quality, but terrible execution on anything remotely fusion. I'd still go there for hand rolls and sashimi, but would recommend against virtually anything else there.
I loved Sushi Roku in LA. I had one very bad meal at the one in Vegas, and haven't ever been back, but I expect it was just a fluke considering how much I like Roku in LA.
Hamada at the Rio is overpriced, but is decent quality if you are stuck at the Rio and don't want to go somewhere far.
Ra at Fashion Show Mall sucks. Don't eat there if you're looking for good sushi.
I know it's tl/dr but should give you some options to go on
