Ok I'm skiving from work for an hour so give me 10 mins and I'll explain fully.........

The pass line bet is the first bet at the start of the game. Basically you are rolling the dice to establish the number you are going to try and roll again, this number is know as 'the point'

You put your initial bet on the pass line (highlighted in red) during this roll. If a 7 or 11 come up you win, if 2,3 12 come out you lose and roll again. If any other number comes up that is now 'the point'.



The main game now starts and you place your odds bet directly behind your pass line bet and the games continues. Then keep rolling until 'the point' or a 7 is rolled, if 'the point' comes up you win, if a 7 comes up you lose, simple.

The Come Bet- First off don't even bother with this bet until you have got the mechanics of the above sorted and you know what you are doing. The come bet is for the degens who aren't getting enough action, basically after the point has been established all the come bet is doing is establishing another game within the original game.

So for example if you are in the middle of a game and say the point is six, you put your bet down on the come section (in red) in between rolls and and say an eight comes up, you have established a second point (an eight) and can bet your odds accordingly on that one too. So within the same game you are now playing 2 points (six and eight) and hoping to hit either or those instead of a seven. The advantage of doing is is that you get better odds than simply betting straight up on a second number within the established game.



Does that make sense? Craps doesn't help itself by making the board look overly complicated, but it is fairly straight forward once you have got your head around it.

Good description Woodsey, but you forgot to add that between rolls you have to randomly shout things like "Horn High Ace Deuce" and "Hard Ways" while throwing chips at the dealer.

There are some bets I don't even fecking understand , all I know is, the way I do it is how to do your bollocks in the slowest possible fashion, enabling you the suck up the maximum amount of booze for your money

Its only because all the video's on you tube and free lessons you get in Vegas are done by American's, their version of English combined with them not explaining the 'craps language' makes it fking confusing. I learnt it by playing next to another English bloke who explained it all to me in laymans terms, picked it up in about 5 mins as a result. In fact Ralph on here gave me a few tips as well............

Also, most of the bets on the table are a waste of time as the house edge is too big. You only really need to know the pass line, odds, don't pass and come bets are you are pretty much sorted tbh. Don't bet on anything else.............
