When I read Linux's post earlier that Kauto wasn't going to run I actually had a lump in my throat lol. I've never really been into horses very much but I love that horse. I had my first ever big bet in anything on Kauto, it was before I did this as well so the money actually meant something. I never bet more than £50 before this and as I say I've never really been into the horsies so if I was ever going to have a big punt I didn't expect it to have been on the geegees. But Bluesq had an offer on of £200 matched so I put £200 on and put the matched bet on and was planning to go halves with someone who I'd usually share a £20/50 bet on football with so she could get involved in the sweat.

She knew I was super confident we would win so said why don't I open an account as well and put another £200 on, oh I c, well I wasn't going to say no. So we had £400 on as well as the £400 matched bets. I told me Dad and he thought I was fukn mental, comes to an hour before and me Brother decides to put a fiver on Denman, the race starts and he's genuinely shouting for Denman to win so he binks £20 when I have the world, or so it felt at the time, on Kauto. So instead of watching the race I'm kicking off with him haha. I love my kid but he can be a bit of a mug sometimes, no doubt he gets more than £20 out of me if I win but he didn't see it like that, bawbag.

It was the year he did win and I actually remember not being that bothered, probs because me Brother had pissed me off. I was chuffed to bink for someone else though, plus my Dad was sweating it hard. Next year done a couple hundred in when it ran terrible and then didn't back it until I the King George at Xmas but was only on tiny. My plan was going to be either put all my profits on him to win or put however much I needed to in order to get out.

Now that he's a doubt though if I'm going to back him I have to do it now when he's drifted and can get nrnb. Seems very unshrewd of me to get involved after BH has said he would oppose, so I've put £200 @ 9/2 with BetVictor. I really hope he makes it, will undoubtedly give me the biggest buzz of the festival just if he runs, get there plz.
