Don't get me started on the US office, love it to bits. Pamela in the early episodes was the epitome of the upper echelon 'plain Jane' that i would love to do. Hot, in a normal way. I think that is why i liked seeing her in this so much, that in real life i may have a chance, when really i am barely having a chance with my own right hand.

Totally agree about Pam. They really nailed the attainable but really attractive to men character, in the US office. She probably got aesthetically better looking in series 4-5 but I still prefer the first 3 seasons version of her.

I was a real sceptic about the whole show having being a big fan of the UK version, but it really is a very good show in its own right.

US one abs crushes the UK one, not hard since there's so many more and every episode is the same level of incredness.

Agree about Pam, like.

This. I never gave it a chance til this year and now me and my Missus are 1/2 way through season 7. It is far too good. Only character I don't really like is Ryan. Rest are just incred.

Try sitting on your hand until it goes dead first. Then it feels like someone else is doing it.

Took another shot at mtt's today, felt like I've played well in the last couple of mtt sessions I've played and was feeling super confident. Once again though it was a case of close but no cigar. Tbh, although ofc I'm super grateful to be staked and always want to do a bink to make people a decent profit, I wasn't that fussed about "winning" 10k, but losing a flip for 2/13 in the 215 turbo sucked just as much as the Storm did they other day.

The reason being is it's not really about the money for me, and if you've followed the thread recently you'll know that's not because I don't need it. Just long term whether I won 36k or 3k it wouldn't really make a huge difference to my life and it'd be business as usual soon enough. If I where to stop playing Poker tmoro, when I look back on it when I'm old I wouldn't think "when I was younger I won x amount of $" or " I won 27k in a comp once", they only thing I'd always remember is once being ranked #1 in the games I played. That means much more to me than any amount of money.

The thing that makes it hurt with mtt's is I'm just so desperate to experience the feeling of actually winning a comp. Although I had a lot of fun resulting from it, at no point after the Monte Carlo was I ever happy about how I did in the tournament. Like I say, it was great to be able to pay a decent return to backers but from a personal point of view I was just gutted to come so close and not win.

I do realise that it's a little twattish (insert better word) to not just be grateful for the sums of money I have won over the years instead of having a moan sometimes, and don't get me wrong I know I'm very lucky to have what I've got. I just can't help not feeling a bit gutted everytime I come so close to getting that bink and continously fail. Mostly because everytime I get to the last couple of tables I always start to envisage how nice it would be if I did go onto win and I could ring my Mam and Dad up to say, "oioiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, finally did a win". Not that they'd probably even care about it that much and are already really proud of what I've achieved in Poker anyways, but I think it would be quality.

I'm sure if I keep taking shots every now and then, that 1st place finish that has so far eluded me will come.

Perseverance ftw.

Anyways, back to the daily grind for the rest of the week from tmoro. LEGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It's definitely a good thing.

This isn't even excusable thin bragging from the BITB btw, I railed him to that 3rd  Wink

It's a good thing in some ways I agree, not so much in the way that it's easy to suggest from the outside looking in that we have lost some perspective with regards to money when you're devved about winning $6.5k in a night or me £11k in a weekend, or more recently $1400 in a night. I don't think we should be criticised for that though, it's just how our minds work for that short period of time straight afterwards.

Don't often post in diaries so forgive the intrusion but what you said about when you get older grabbed my attention. Listen, everyone will look back when older with wiser heads, not from the same perspective. The old mondatoo will say damn straight poker is all about the money and not some infatuation with prestige or first place. He will say if you feel a bit gutted after not achieving first place in an mtt you will be feeling a bit gutted a lot of the time. Old mondatoo would tell you that is a waste of time and prob slap you in the face also.

+EV to approach poker by fist-pumping wins very hard and snap moving on after any defeat completely fucking emotionless.

Well obv I don't expect to win every mtt I play and those that I don't have a deep run in I instantly forget about. Not really any prestige to winning an online donkament either really, just I'm pretty sure it feels good to bink that 1st place instead of coming 10-30th, again. When I'm old and look back on my life, telling stories to the younguns of the family, why would I care about the money when I wouldn't remember what I did with any of it anyways.
