Dongles sure are reliable though. Will sort the router thing out though.

I do have one C4ught, actually on it now as you have to use it once a month or it de-activates, it's with 3.

Trying to login into online banking...

"The connection has timed out

The server at online.lloydstsb.co.uk is taking too long to respond."

Taking about 30 seconds for a blonde page to open, sure seems like that would work out well for grinding Tongue

Phew, got there in an 8 and a 3r, neither of which were in great positions when I posted on the break so pretty pleased just to get out of the huge hole and have a meh day instead of nut worst day ever.

Games today : 174
Loss today : $534.77
Games total : 1428
Profit total : $1279.22

Current balance : $2565.23

35's

Games today : 21
Loss today : $87.26

Current balance : $3912.74

Been a pretty poor month, think the profit's actually overstated by 500 or so as well but cba to check back and work it out, either way I'm pretty due for an upswing, hopefully crush pretty hard in October. Luckily the 35's have went really well this month which has cushiioned the blow a bit.

Really wanted to grind a Sunday for a change and since it looked very unlikely there'd even be a sweat in the Ryder Cup, got that pretty wrong, gladly, I decided to be good yesterday by going out pretty late, 8 is late for me if I go out on a Saturday and I was in a taxi by midnight so I'd play today. Be very surprised if we ever see another year in Sport as good as this in my lifetime, absolutely tremendous.

I was speaking to a woman in the bar yesterday that was sitting at our table (my Dad and his mates are in the bar 3-4 days p/w and always sit at "their" table). I was pretty shocked at the pretty brutal pay she gets from the Travelodge. She was saying that they pay £1.45 per room she cleans and her contract is for 0 hours so basically she doesn't get paid unless there's work there and then she will get paid by the room and according to her this is the norm for all the Travelodge's and Premier Inn's as well.

What's worse though is they pay £1.45 per room for both staying customers and for departures; the average time per room for departures is 17 minutes compared to just 7 for those staying but yet Travelodge pay the same rate for both. So basically they will be paying there staff £5.12 p/h if they have a day doing departures only, how come they can get away with this when £6.19 is the minimum wage rate for workers aged 21 and over ? She was 50. It was pretty brutal hearing her say she's basically working herself into an early grave (her words not mine) to earn a fiver an hour.

My Mam was a cleaner for quite a well when I was younger, similar to the woman I spoke to yesterday she would graft her arse off for shit pay doing a horrible job with the rewards being just managing to keep your head above water. When I was young I used to always think it was dead unfair that she'd have one of the hardest jobs possible and be on the shittiest pay whilst those that were getting the lot seemed to have such easy jobs, sadly ofc that's the way of the world.

That's what I thought, she'd had a bit to drink but mentioned the figures about 20 times and said the same thing every time. I asked her how they get away with it and she said they found some loophole in the system.

Sounds pretty brutal. Quick google gave this page for minimum wage and piece work:
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Employees/TheNationalMinimumWage/DG_175097

Wonder if they gave the written notice there. You'd expect a big company like this would comply with the letter of the law if not the spirit, but I also guess there is very little she can do about it if she wants to keep her job Sad.

I saw a clip about Romanian workers & companies employed them as self employed contractors to get round skilled worker rules.

Total joke.

Yeah this is what she was talking about, they use a polish company that employs all the cleaning staff.

Very much a joke and shouldn't be allowed.

I guess it's not really a suprise but it's pretty disgraceful that these huge chains are finding ways to not have to even pay minimum wage.

Enjoy that dip Sir, haha.

From nufc.com

"Confirmation of the contract extensions for Alan Pardew and his staff has sent one national newspaper writer off the deep end....quite literally!

Daily Telegraph scribe Henry Winter had previously gone on the record to say that he'd swim the River Tyne if Magpies owner Mike Ashley made any sort of long-term commitment to the current manager.

Here's how he confirmed the news via twitter:

28 Sep. Thanks for tips on best spot for Tyne dip for @SBRFoundation. I know it's a dangerous tidal river. I'm getting expert advice. It will happen.

27 Sep. I honour my bets. I promised to swim the Tyne if Ashley showed long-term loyalty to Pardew #nufc. He has, fair play, so time for dip in Tyne.

PS: Henry's "dip" is planned for this Sunday before he takes his place in the SJP press box to cover our game against Manchester United - hypothermia permitting..."
