matasow runs it twice??? he must be mega broke to do something that stupid...
I would. Mike is playing out of his roll and the pot is huge.
He's guaranteed half the pot and almost a lock to win the other.
I think its worse for Negreanu to run that twice
its obvious he's scared to part with any of his money... take last week's terrible qj suited fold... if he can't afford to be on there he shouldn't play...
lol Marcin.
Have you never played in a game that was out of your roll?

Btw, that KK against 89 on a K99 flop....
Can Daniel ever fold there? I suppose Mike could be holding Aces, AK (maybe), but that's about it right. So much easier to think about it after the hand and on TV, I probs never fold!
I was thinking the same thing,I think even AK he probably would just call when Daniel raises the flop,I think the only hand we beat is AA,but he doesn't have many 9x combo hands in his range since he's utg and playing ridic tight so it's either nuts or air but Mike's scared money in this game so you have to think it's nuts a lot of the time. His rubdowns on both hands really tilted me though he played the Kings bad imo even though they got it in.The rubdown after the AQ hand was pretty cheap imo but there friends outside of poker aren't they so seems strange he'd do that.
Mike is never reraising AA there
I thought negreanu was so unfortunate there, he'd been playing over aggro and looking to get someone to play back at him when he finally does have it, unfortunately dickhead wakes up with the nuts.

i just think he's caught up in his plan which has been clearly to play way more aggressively than usual and ditching his hands to any resistance, hoping to find a hand in a big pot and meet some resistance. The problem is obviously that its the tightest player at the table playing back at him and to us it looks a clear fold (i would have folded), hypothetically given his play up to now as i see it do you think its a trivial fold against Durr or galfond in the same show?

lol at people laughing at Mattusow
He is a very good player, with an excellent record.
Get someone to stake you into that game and see you how you play. He plays in a way which is right with regard to the fact he is under rolled. Dint forget that these guys benefit from air time, publicity and all those outside factors, whihc is maybe why he wants in the game.

At first i thought this for sure, then i remembered some of the history between Negreanu and Matusow in not just previous seasons of High Stakes Poker but things like Poker After Dark and Tournament of Champions 2004 i think it was. Theyve had some right set too's with Matusow running the odd huge bluff.
I know hes underrolled for this and you have to take this into account but i think history plays its part here.

Firstly those were in tournaments, where its easy to go a bit sick.
Secondly, Mike's playing style has changed massively since then. He's gone from lag to super nit.
Thirdly, thats seventy diiiiiiiiimes.

He's big enough 'name' to not need to 'get his face out there' and hes only damaging his pretty dodgy reputation by playing so badly and nitty. People watch the show to see interesting moves and good plays, not people just rock it up and wait for the nuts.
Just seen that in the UK poker den thing they have an option to vote off a player from the table every couple of hours.
Get Anne Robinson on there "You are the biggest nit....Goodbye"

Yeah, to see him get paid off with Kings full made me do a little puke.
DN knew he was beat when Mattusow raised him. Looked like he just sat back in his seat and thought, fuck it, at least i can just moan about how bad i run on HSP if im behind, which im 98% sure i am...."Im all in"
Oh you call!? How about we run it twice so if by some miracle i do make quads on you, i will only get half the pot back anyway. WPWPWPWP

matusow is so classless. waits all night complaining then flops nut vs nuts where if he doesn't stack DN he's basically very very special. and tries to claim he played it well or he's done something right. he's just like hellmuth, clueless in todays style of game. I get so tilted watching hellmuth or mastusow
