Feldman fights back...

Andrew Feldman is front page of this month's issue defending himself from a lot of criticism he has been receiving from some rather well known figures in the game.
The article is below:

The downs are the constant criticism found mostly on poker forums where the status quo is to “jump on the bandwagon”. This kind of thing usually comes part and parcel with being publicly known, but there are two sides to every story, so perhaps if people are going to judge they should firstly make sure they are well informed.
I don't see ANY bad things being said about Julian Thew's sponsorship deal, or any one who begrudges Julian when he wins a big tourney.
Funny that.

Why does this guy seem to attract so much vilification? He hardly seems any worse than the rest.

The kid needs an intervention, I have no problem with him personally and I have no problem with bum hunting, but every time he does an interview, appears on TV or any sort of public appearance he shoots himself in the foot big time. If I was Full Tilt I would ban him from speaking altogether, but that would sort of make him being sponsored a bit pointless.
The reason he gets the stick for bum hunting is because he also tries to reap the rewards and status that high profile and sponsorship brings. imo you cant be both a bum hunter type and also someone who regularly appears on front covers and TV shows, especially when you have a reputation as a bum hunter because the last thing you want to do is alienate the people you play against by announcing they are a bum by merit of the fact that you are sat with Andrew Feldman. If you really want to get the soft games, dont be sponsored and on TV every week - get it quietly, if you really want to be a high profile sponsored pro, dont be surprised, bothered or go on the counterattack when a small faction of the poker community bad mouth you on a forum.
Bless him though, he is only young, seemed like a nice enough lad when I spoke to him once, just needs to pull his socks up.

LOL ... I love all the hate towards Feldman, he seeks out the games and players where he knows he has a big advantage eh ?
Some call that bumhunting, I for one call it bloody shrewd and intelligent.
I have been around the UK poker circuit long enough to see player after player go busto and disappear from the face of the earth because they just wanted to splash the cash and be the big "I am".
Any boxing manager worth his salt will look after his fighters and make bouts for them that they know their man has an edge in, so that their boxer can progress in the game and stay in the game.
Having the brains to seek out games where he has an edge is something that should be applauded, not hated imo.

You can tell him that yourself when he joins you at the cash tables
