One realisation that I've come to recently has been that I need much more experience playing live. I'm simply not good enough to play all the UK festivals. If I did so I'd probably blow my bankroll by March of next year. I need to work on, amongst other things, giving away less information, interpreting inormation that others give away and not being as whimsical in my desicion making process.

The plan was to play a lot more locally, going to the odd Festival now and then and padding my roll up by continuing to grind away online. My problem recently has been playing too much poker in the club, where there's not too much money to be made (outside of a 6 card-omaha game, that I've banned myself from coz I blew so much dough in it) When I'm home I find myself less and less keen to play online. I'm only playing aout half as much as I should be.

I don't want to burnout, something had to give. Less online play or less live play at the club. I came to the conclusion it had to be the latter as online play is where I make my money. Stuck in the house all day though is getting me down. I play less now than when I had a job! The conclusion I came to, get a job!

What better job could there be for a fool like me than becoming a poker dealer. I start at Cincinnati's tonight. Hopefully this will give me the hunger for playing online back. After dealing all night I'll hopefully be itching to play a large sesh when I get back. Going to get the eye of the tiger back Cheesy

On nights when I'm not needed as a dealer I can still play in the tournaments, although as an employee I'm not allowed to play in the cash games. This is a good thing. I'd be far better off, financially speaking, playing sit n' go's all night than sitting for 10 hours doing my nut in a cash game. True, I won't get any live cash game experience but this is fine by me. I'll just try to specialise in tournaments and leave all live cash games alone.

I have a week to transfer all knowledge to another manager who does not really understand poker, but nice bloke and sure he will come up trumps. I will still be in contact with ex-work colleagues so I will try and sort anything out. Just hope the standard doesn't drop, but sure Bluewolf can cope.

Will be at the Marriott though Cheesy

Best of luck dik, sorry to hear you have left. I hope you have luck in your new position what ever it may be, as you had really put the Broadway cardroom on the poker map.

just to get the thread back on track, im gald you have made this decision tank mate, not because i fear you in the tourney, not at all mate, i enjoy playing you.

But i am glad that you have realised this slight problem you have encountered, and youve decided to act on it now, rather than denying this fact and letting it ruin you until you have nowt left, and really do need to go back to a 'proper' job lol

GL in your venture and i hope you get the hunger back too.

Ill be heading in tonight to play the tourney anyway so ill see yoyu tonight, and speak to you then.

Your a gent and hope it works out mate

Sorry for hijacking thread Tank, but I can't start a new topic off at moment for a reason.

Mr. Moves, I have left due to the fact I feel I can't work somewhere that doesn't back me 100%, I know a different reason why I have not been backed but can't post until I leave on Monday. Can't go into too much detail as I am still trying to be on good terms to organize Blonde Bash from outside the company. I wouldn't slag them off anyway but there is an amusing story behind it.

I met The Tank and dik9 for the first time this year and I was greatly impressed by both of them.

The tank is a dedicated poker player with a good insight into the game, this is complimented by his self discipline and realistic outlook. His hand analysis skills are superb, what's more he has the ability to share those skills with us in his writing

dik9 was the Broadway's best asset. Always approachable, honest, hard working, firm and fair, he does his very best for club and players alike, I for one will be sorry to see him go

Good luck to you both
