As any APATERS on blonde will confirm I am a keen APATER and have supported APAT events as much as I can over the last 3 years. It can be a costly business, especially if you don’t attain a decent result (APAT or otherwise) over the season. I don't intend for this thread to be a discussion on the merits or otherwise of APAT, either you get it or you don't.
My commitment to some of these events has seen me travel to Nationals without a seat, prepared to turn up very early and get on the alternates list (which I have never failed to do) and on one occasion actually camping out in Cardiff for 3 nights to keep costs down to play the event.
Season 4 has been announced and what a cracker it is. I intend to participate in at least 4 and, depending on finances, up to 6 of the live events and of course the blonde bash in May. These I will be funding myself and will use up most of my resource.
http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=5149.0So what am I looking for?
Am looking for full backing for the 11 online events as listed:
Online Championship: Eleven Championship events with a $50 buy in, each with added GUKPT seats for the winners.
In total $550 (there are no reg fees for these events) It would be good to get one backer but willing to offer 10% chunks at $55.
ONLINE CHAMPIONSHIP
1 day events - $50 buy in (main events) - Saturdays @ 8pm
27/2 - Welsh Online Championship – Betfair
27/3 - United Kingdom Online Championship - Betfair
1/5 - Central European Online Championship - Betfair
22/5 - Scottish Online Championship - Betfair
3/7 - Northern European Online Championship – Betfair
23/7 - World Online Six Max Championship - Betfair
25/7 - World Online Poker Championship – Betfair
14/8 - Irish Online Championship - Betfair
2/10 - English Online Championship - Betfair
6/11 - European Online Championship - Betfair
11/12 - Southern European Online Championship – Betfair
I am asking for full staking on a 70/30 basis. This includes should I play well enough to gain a seat in any GUKPT event and any profit that may be gained from this.
Added incentives:
Should I play well enough to gain a piece of this:
Sponsorship Packages: The winner of the Professional League will win a £20,000 APAT sponsorship package for 2011. In addition, the winners of the Online and National Amateur Rankings will join the 17 Amateur Champions from season four and the player with the most points finishes across Amateur and Online events, to compete in the APAT Champions Final, to play for a second APAT £20,000 sponsorship package in 2011. This event will be held in February 2011 and venue details will be announced closer to that time. Then an added incentive would be 20% of any winnings from this to also go to any backer/s. I would also be offering 20% of any winnings gained from any live APAT events that I attend.
The sticky bit:
I haven’t really played that much online, mostly blonde comps and the odd game now and then so don’t have a worthwhile OPR to put up. I have played the odd staked comp for blondes with mixed results, a couple of small cashes for Pab and recently a nice $400 return for Blatch in a $5 Double A event 4th place finish on FTP.
I have had a few successes live mostly in £50-£100 tourneys:
http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=100170As well as those recorded I have won 2 £100 Scottish poker festival events in Edinburgh and a £100 side event in the old GCBPT and during the APAT European event weekend at Luton took down the £150 Sunday event for £2500.
I also had a successful individual performance during the European Team event as part of the Scottish Team during this weekend.
I believe my live game especially has improved over the last year.
As previously stated, it would be good to get one backer (mostly for ease of admin) but would welcome any lesser interest in 10% chunks.
Will probs be looking for bank transfer as am unsure if player transfer is available on betfair poker and chances are not many will have a poker account there as yet.
Thanks for reading.............................flame away
