MICKYP Did you go to the review?
Yip. Panel of Peter scudamore,Mark Howard,Alex steadman (racing uk) and a chap from timeform.
Did'nt learn much new imo,but hears some of their thoughts.
Supreme Novice Hurdle-Most were prepared to take Dunguib on due to the price,Get me out of here and Blackstairmountain were mentioned.
Arkle-All wre concerned about Captain cee bee's jumping, while being sweet on Somersby and Riverside Theatre.
Champion Hurdle-Thought the race could be set up for the hold up horse,s ,namely Go Native and Khyber Kim.
Neptune Novice hurdle-Worthy fav in Rite of passage but all liked Peddlers Cross
Rsa-No one could see Long run getting beat ,regardless of the jockey.
Champion chase-Masterminded,a few thought Kalahari King was better on a flat track.
Ryanair-Tranquil Sea was fancied and Alberta's run at a bigger price
Truimph-Alaivan got good reports and Hunter View from the pipe stable if this was his target.
Alfred bartlett novice-Restless Harry and Enterprise park

Goldcup-Kauto and tricky Trickster ew,handicaps to follow

There are likely to be a host of free bet offers around next week, I got one today from William Hill telephone betting, it is a free bet of £30 after you quote the promotional code "Leg10" and place a bet of £10. This is solely for telephone betting and is separate from their online operation. I think they are sending this out to people with dormant telephone betting accounts but if they can't trace one they set up a new one. I done this tonight an it was very straightforward with call lasting 5 minutes or so. The number is 0800 44 40 40 and it was from a mailshot I received.

My views for what they're worth and that is very little...

Supreme - I wouldn't lay Dunguib with Triggs money. But McCoy is very keen on Get Me Out Of Here and PP are offering money back if dunguib wins. Price has shortened though.

Arkle- I'm with Captain Cee Bee. Somersby is the most natural jumper in the field, but horses for courses and 2 years ago my choice beat Binocular at the course.

William Hill - The Package has been backed and Murphy likes it, but IMO Bensalem would have beaten Diamond Harry last time out if it hadn't fluffed the (think) 2nd last. That is good enough form for me.

Champion Chase - Twist Magic ew, its twice the price it should be.

RSA - I've heard it all before. The speculation surrounding Punchestowns seems like a smokescreen to me and I think it should still be fav.

Ryanair - Obviously a funny distance, but should suit Barbers Shop who will never stay 3m at cheltenham.

World Hurdle - Big Bucks is different gravy. I'll be with previous Gold Cup winner War Of Attrition ew. Class is permanent.

Gold Cup - Imperial Commander ew , and would like a matchbet with Denman if its offered.

Triunph - Carlito Brigante.

Handicaps in general, just follow the Irish money.

And finally, my favourite race of the meeting and my biggest fancy. 'The Champion Hurdle'.  I've thought all along that last years novices were head and shoulders above the more experienced horses. Zaynar has been written off way too early and will stay every yard up the hill. Medermit and Khyber Kim have to be in the shake-up. But STARLUCK will win comfortably. I still believe they have been kidding us with it. So combi tricasts on the 4 and get your hard earned on Murphys mount.

Good luck all. I expect to have a strike rate of 0%.

Who is putting up a smokescreen for Punchestowns and why are they doing it?

I've worked it out!

Nicky Henderson made up the story about Punchestowns being lame to increase his price so he wins more for his £2 each way Festival Yankee.

What a cunning bastard!

Price on bensalem is going on exchanges as we speak so if you fancy that one the themisery probably best to back that one at the 6-1 with the firms now.  I think it will go off a fair bit shorter.  FWIW JP normally tries to get his multiples business done on the Sunday before the festival starts with the commission agents he uses  so if you fancy any of his horses it is probbly best to try and get them done asap.

Just placed my first bet on this year's Cheltenham Festival. Have backed Get Me out of Here in the Supreme Novices Hurdle on Paddy Power, stake returned if Dunguib wins so pretty close to a freeroll IMO as favourite is going to be very hard to beat.

I am more excited about this years Cheltenham, than I have been for many years.

There is going to be so much eachway value I might not even go this year, just trek around the shop taking advantage of 1/4 odds all races!

Top of the list by miles is Kalahari King each way at 6/1 in the Champion Chase.

If you tried to get a lumpy ew bet on this in a non Cheltenham race you might get £25 ew. At the festival it's unlimited.

Add

Menorah and Oscar Whiskey ew in the Supreme Novices

Karabak ew in the World Hurdle

Imperial Commander and Cooldine in the Gold Cup.

A nice combination Lucky 15 on all those will do me nicely.

Plus all the juicy handicaps. It really is mouthwatering just thinking all the money that could be made..

Sigh, if Karabak had been placed it would have been the best Chltenham ever.

Still pretty good Wink
