A young fella has sat at the table for an hour or so.  He isn't massively aggressive, but more so than average at the table.  His standard raise appeared to be 750 with blinds 150/300 and 25 ante, and he also punished multiple limpers a couple of times with a raise from button/cut off to 1500 or so.  I think it was 9 handed.  My reputatiion is probably in tatters, but he probably doesn't know that.

The blinds have just risen to 200/400 with 50 ante. He raises to 1050 from UTG+1.  I call from cut off with  with 8000 or so behind.  Do I just push here?  I think there were 2 callers in the SB and BB, though it may have been one.  Either way there is 4K or so in the middle.

Flop comes  .  It goes check, check and he puts in a standard 2500 or so.  Now if I had , this looks a simple push, is a push here easy, marginal or spewy?

I shove pre.

Dunno if I'm thrilled about getting it in on this flop, but I still get it in. Too much in the middle and as long as he's not got AcX(c/x) we're not in terrible shape.

I almost shoved pre, but I sometimes like to call with AQ and let them spew the flops I hit.  I thought about this after I posted and I don't know why I was bothered, I think I go bust however I play it when the 4th club comes.  Someone suggested I should have called the flop, as it looks stronger and could slow him down.  But I guess you only want to slow him down if you can see his hand!

He had  BTW.

if u call the flop there will be 9k in the middle and 5.5k in your stack....

have to see that calling is never an option right?

don't think anyone considered calling flop, think the debate is about preflop call/fold/shove and postflop fold/shove.

i'd probably ship it pre against villain as described and flop is kinda meh either way i spose.
