Early in a 6-handed WSOP Satellite only 2 seats. 22 players remain.

UTG has played tight. Makes a weird open of 5x. Button has played very loose and is wild, he is a clear calling station but noticeably hasn't 3-bet much preflop. Starting stack is 5000 chips. This is only the 2nd blind level of the satellite.

Hero has 4500 stack

UTG has 5000

Button has 4000.

Blinds are 20-40

UTG raises to 200

Hero has

Hero flats

Button 3-bets to 640

UTG calls the 640

Hero?

Are we happy to just fold here? 4bet call? Jam? Maybe even a call?

If so why?

I think it's a fold for me, mainly because the guy utg obv has a pretty big hand that he's not folding to a 4b, plus we have the 3bettor still to act behind us.

In a satellite I think it' a reasonably assumption the UTG opener has probably satted into this from a bottom rung satellite both from his open and flatting the 3b oop.

I'd be interested in what the guys who play regularly say though, for me this deep and this early it's a snap fold and move on.

meh think a fold is probs the solid line because your reads probs arent clear enough this early on and you should have a huge edge in this particular tourney this deep

really? i dont play satalites at all, so maybe why i'm stil undecided.

obv dont like calling, folding or making it 2275 and snapping off anything is what i'm thinking atm. i'm not worried about utg, i think he folds if we 5bet.

edit: just saw that btn hadnt 3bet much, makes it alot tougher, but if he's spewy and there's been a raise and call it makes me think he's being a tard.

i'm taking it you sigh folded?

Not sure if this helps but it was a £1k buyin sattellite there was only 23 runners total and most players had satellited their way in. I know the button bought in direct and hes a spewy cash player who I'm sure is wealthy in real life!

I'm pretty sure that if UTG is a tight fish he prob has like 1010,JJ,AQ and just raised 5x pre because he's terribad, scared etc etc, if I have a note that btn is spewy I dont think it's too bad raise getting it in here. Although I do think it's a fold Tongue

I ended up jamming, really think it was a mistake this early and with the edge I had. There was just no need for it. The button tank called and UTG snap folded AQ of hearts. I'll let you guess his hand its safe to say we didn't get there Smiley
