Do u have an original windows disk or a reformat disc?
if you have an original disk then u should set to boot from cd in the bios, when the machine starts a black screen will come up saying... to boot from cd press any key... be quick as if u miss u will have to start again ...if u do this it should then it should eventually go into a setup routine for reloading windows
if the machine says you have no hard disk ur bios may have reset the sata mode in the bios..this would need to be in compatability mode... re the beeping..these are post beeps and can be diagnosed in different ways depending on bios..if u get those usually memory or board...and ur gonna have to take it to a repairer..
Yes I have the disc and i have tried all that. I have figured out it is a problem with the sata mode and have downloaded the drivers but all google searches say to put it on a floppy disc..the machine doesnt take floppy discs and and a cd doesnt work. I love a challenge but dont know what to do from here.
I am trying to fix it without taking it to a repairer as I am a bit skint. Just need to figure out what is busted. My thoughts are that I just need the PC to recognise the hard drive first and I can take it from there.
