I've confused myself after reading that thread back and not convinced it was there that I was asked if i wanted to leave a tip - think I was getting muddled with the tannoy announcement thing.

I don't get why that is news.
Because facebook causes cancer and war and stuff.

I hope dealers or cardroom staff don't get sacked for coming onto forums and bitching about players stiffing them.
One of my ambitions is winning a massive comp, but gettinfg shitty service on Day 1. Dealers slow, dying of thirst etc.
I win 1st place, no deals, a nice six figure sum in the back pocket and then leave the staff a tenner.
It would make me very sad if the staff were all to professional to come on here and out me as a tight sod.
I would love the oppurtunity to treat a bunch of minimum wage workers in my own area, maybe the ones who work outside in all weathers, and the ones who clean toilets etc, to a massive night out with 3% of the prize pool. I'd get them all completely chicken nuggered and comission a big group photo where we're all flipping V signs at the camera.
I want to post this picture on the thread where some member of cardroom staff outs me, I want to just post the picture and offer no explanation. Less is more.
Knowing my luck if I ever bink 6 figures in a live comp the service will be excellent throughout and I'll just leave a tip like anyone else would. Fml I run bad.

Might buy yous a shandy anyway as I'm that damn generous.
I'll ask the barperson to put it in two glasses so it doesn't look like you're sharing.

I dont see what the fact they are on minimum wage has to do with anything.
I rarely play anywhere else other than DTD, I think I tip well there as I like a lot of the staff and a few of them make a good night great with a bit of banter at the table.
If I went to the GUKPT in Coventry and binked the lot I probably wouldnt be leaving more than £100 and they would only get that if I thought that some staff had done more than their job dictated.
I would be much more inlined however to tell them to GTFO at the cash desk, meet the better dealers/valets later and give them cash directly as I would hate to think I had indirectly made some miserable shits day more profitable.

just on the note of facebook
do employers check peoples facebook pages and their status.
is it a big factor for employing ppl?
my friend had a go at me coz he thought i posted something unappropriate on his status. He said his employers and work collegues can see this.
i thought he was an idiot
he posted I have a good idea to make me sleep easier. alcohol + medicine = sleep.
my reply was spankwire.com

Didn't bother me, but might proper annoy the next person. Can't see how either of you was better or worse from an employer's point of view though.

Of course employers use Facebook to check on potential and current employees. They also use Linkedin and the more aware will Google or use something like that link Bongo posted.

Asking for tips almost certainly does increase the overall amount they get, but even without any other factors I personally wouldn't leave a tip if it was asked for.
if you never ask, youll never know
id rather they asked then me not knowing im supopsed to leave a tip then finding out later and feeling like a ****

Why on earth would you ever be "supposed to leave a tip"? A tip is something completely optional that you can leave if you feel like you've received good service.
