In the Empire last night playing £1/2

UTG limps i complete with 56cc in sb and bb checks

Flops A39 and i decided to bet £4 with air, bb folds and limper calls. Turn is a 10c and gave me a back door flush. I think bet about £11 and limper calls again, sigh. I have him on a shitty ace atm. Turn is a k and i miss my draw and give up because this fish was tez and was likely to call me down. it goes check check.

I was relucant to show my 6hi and said the limper what you got and he was like what you got. After about 20-30 seconds of asking each other to show first i just got the hump and tossed my 56 into the muck and the mother fucker showed him 54 for a missed gutshot and just laughed in my face! ulkgjtyedtrythluik My 6 hi played! Only about £35 ish but it still gave me the hump for a few mins esp as the bastard starting laughing, arrrrghhh.

Am i supposed to show first here and is he entitled not to show until i do? Is this poor form from him and a kinda angle shoot?

Yes you're supposed to show first but you didn't show anything so he wins.

Turn your cards over next time son.

ermm....

You were last agressor and first in position so it's def up to you to show first. You say you're reluctant to show your 6hi, well i reckon he might be reluctant to show his 5hi. By all means say something like "you got it" or "what you got" to try and get him to show first but if he doesn't then you have 2 options. Show your hand or fold it. You folded it so yeah, gg.

And no poor form by him. And definitely not an angle shoot. He's not done anything wrong. Poor form by you. You're first to show - show your hand.

As someone who plays live once in a blue moon can I ask is that he was the last aggressor or that he was first to act that means he should show first??

It depends on the room, but after it's gone check check I reckon UTG should show.

obv the guy did nuthin wrong here....do u reckon i did in this hand (apart from a questionable flop call!)

I was playing a £1500 comp in Luton a couple of years back, on the final table bubble and I'm one of the shorter stacks. Lalit, who I'd never played with before but I'd been sat with for hours and found to be a real gent (even if his play is a bit flairy at times) makes up the sb and I ck 23 sooted in the big.

The flop is A4x with one of my suit, Lalit min bets and I call with my str8 draw and backdoor fd....turn and river are blanks and both go ck ck, I give it up as I think he likes a call and I'm pretty short and am already thinking that I probs shouldn't have called on the flop.

After I ck behind the river I start to say something to the effect of 'well, you're gonna struggle to beat this monster,' but he grabs my hand as I try to trun them over and says 'I don't want to see them, you win my friend, you win,' and before I can finish what I'm saying his cards are in the muck.

The Grosvenor rules that day were that u didn't have to show to claim the pot as we'd had that ruling earlier, so I took the chips and went on to get a decent finish but I felt super guilty...am I a vad man?
