I just found out Dustin is a distant relation of Jean van de Velde.
Funnily enough I was just thinking about that myself. When I was a young odds compiler working for Victor Chandler I backed VDV for that at a 125-1 pre tourney and then with mates in the office at all rates down to about 7/2 in running for more than was prudent given what I now know about bankroll management. The resulting meltdown affected my punting for about nine months after. I am on Johnson here at 10-1. Hopefully I have learnt something over the years!!!! |
