There was never much coverage of this as I did not notice any British or European interest, & dear Dave managed to depart inside 40 minutes.

Eventual winner was Thomas Werthmann ($369,535) from Layne Flack ($185,600).

But I notice in 4th place ($88,680) was one Martin Green, from England. Unless it's a mighty coincidence, this was the guy who finished about 6th in the Grovenor South of England Championship at Southjampton a week ago, & who appeared in the British Poker Open.

It's a long way from Southampton to Vegas - well done Martin!

Yeah, this is the same guy - plays betfair under the alias 'Ken Barlow' and is a regular forum poster on Betfair's forum where he goes by the name 'Kenneth Bell Plum' !!

Anyways, good luck to him, nice one.

Yeah, I posted the 1-2-3 earlier today on the Forum under Live Tournaments, WSOP Event # 2, $1,500 NLH.

If you want the full result, let me know & I will post it.

We are putting them all in our Tourney Results section, but we have a server issue at the moment, so I can put it on the Forum if you are interested.

Dirk Diggler, thank for that, & welcome to blonde.

Delighted to hear that it was the one & same Martin Green, aka Ken Barlow, aka Kenneth Bell Plum - where DO they get these monikers from?

Talking of monikers, Dirk Diggler - where did THAT come from? I can't help but smile when I read it. Dirk Diggler indeed.

Films - nah, don't do them. Thoroughbred Racehorse Breeding, Railways (particularly the Golden Age of Steam), Natural History, & Victorian Engineering, particularly by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. They all float my boat. But not films, not been to the cinema for 30 years or more. Bit sad, eh?

Hehe... Careful - you could hurt my feelings. By a strange coincidence today it's exactly 100 years (June 7th 1905) since the Union with Sweden was dissolved after a curriculum. So today it's a day of celebration in Norway...

Well a happy birthday to you & all your Norwayish countrymen. So Sweden does not own you any more?

Nope - not since 1905... It's a bit like suggesting the Roman Empire still owns England, and to my knowledge they don't?

What a dreadful thought, being owned by the Italians. OK, you win.

Thx for the welcome Tikay. Looks like 'ifm' already filled you in on the moniker so I won't bother too much to expand on that other than to say it's a quality cheesey film about 70's porn land....Think Starsky and Hutch with a slightly different theme...Quality..

I've been looking at the site and the forum since the site began actually but being the lazy sausage I am only now have I been bothered to register for the forum!

I'm by no means a newbie to poker though - been playing hold'em for about 5 years or so now, starting with home games but i do frequent Luton (and have done Ramsgate and Southend too) every now and again and have enjoyed a enough cashes over the years to keep me just ahead of the game, and of course now also enjoy the internet game from the comfort of my sofa.

So I'm just another 'keen' but recreational player and like to try and keep track of what's going on in the poker world and blondepoker is always a great source of info, news, discussion, reports and wit!!

So thanks to all concerned - I know it must be hard work but fun too so keep up the good work!..

We look forward to your posts, & maybe we will bump into each other in luton soon. Hope so.
