Get the lot on, value is value.

This.....but I bottled it. In the end I know it doesnt matter what the event is the price was  wrong and instead of taking it I was too worried about doing yet another chunk in after a hectic month. Anyway, the guy coasts to a win and then it all kicks off as the link above shows.

The annoying thing was we spend time looking for an edge and then a real one appeared and I missed it. I think the overriding reason was I couldnt quite face doing thousands in on a guy eating hotdogs if it went wrong.

I feel sick, wish i'd seen this thread earlier.

I'd have just piled in for my net worth seriously.

That comp is always a two horse race, tbh 1/33 is even a touch of value, i'd have made him like 1/50. 2/7 was literally the price of the century. Chesnut is an absolute hot dog eating monster, without the japanese guy in it he just couldn't lose.

Forgot about this event tbh and had assumed there wld have been no value around.

Sad

Hi Nico,

I posted this after the event Im afraid but was very diasappointed in my thought process.

Hiya Phil.

Gotta admit im happy you didn't post this before, thus i didn't miss yr info just the 'coup'.

Dont beat yrslf up 2 much about it, if u don't know this 'sport' i can see why you'd not want to risk 2 much on such a thing.

Perhaps if you'd watched the last 4/5 of these like some sad cases i cldnt possibly remember...ahem...me, then ud have got on due to the value u kinda knew existed.

I mean if some1 told me about some great bet involving snail racing or something id probably be unwilling to go crazy less id researched like crazy or seen said snail in action with my own eyes.

Prob flawed logic too but yr only human so i wldnt blame yrslf 2 much, esp over a 2/7 shot, u gotta get alot on to make it worth it really, and im sure some books wld have limited the bets due to it being a novelty market an all, grands prob cldnt have been got on, hundreds only and thus ud prob have had to spread the wedge around, which is always annoying, esp on a hot dog eating challenge!

I think OP does the right thing passing this up, not really a good move to put a big bet on something you know feck all about. I could never forgive myself for doing most of my roll on some guy eating hot dogs (I done it on Brazil winning the world cup instead lol  Smiley ).
