Mods - I hope this is ok???
I have 3 nights booked at the Central Edinburgh Travelodge (just off the Royal Mile and very close to the Pleasance, the Caves, and the Underbelly - three reliable Fringe venues.
Being close to things is pretty easy in Edinburgh when the Fringe is on anyway because there are lots of venues.
The dates booked (Tues/Weds/Thurs 3rd - 5th August) give you a night in Edinburgh before the Fringe previews start on Wednesday 4th August. Preview time is a great chance to see lots of shows at reduced prices and indeed you're virtually certain to get free tickets for some shows too.
Have a look at who is appearing at the Pleasance this year here -

Then change the venue name in the search box to Underbelly or The Caves, or C, or The Stand, or ... you get the picture I'm sure.
I've done this trip every year for the last 5 years and will be there again this year but we double-booked the rooms and this isn't cancellable.
If you go to
http://www.travelodge.com today this room will cost you £197.40 or more - this booking was made early at a price for the three nights of £120.50 saving over £75.
Check out the train fares to Edinburgh for this period too - there are bargains galore on the EastCoast MainLine.
