Hamill headed for Everton, I am told.
I suppose with Beckford he's shown he's not afraid to dip into the lower leagues, would be interesting to see the fee.
I think the point is he HAS to dip into the lower leagues as they can't compete for the bigger names
and his track record of doing so is pretty good.

£15 mil on Fellaini wasn't that long ago to be fair.
perhaps because he's actually managed in the Championship he feels he has abetter grasp than most of the gulf in class.

Seamus Coleman from Sligo Rovers seems quite a cheap fine - Has been outstanding this season.

yeah very well, think Holloway was disappinted not to get him again this season. One of the few positives for Everton this season.

I'm down for Sheffield Utd V Swansea on saturday, another new ground for me, taking me up to nearly 50 if I get there. I say if because of the weather thats meant to hit, plus this game is not a top priority as swansea play 3/4 more times before Colchester play them in the FA Cup on January 8th.
Oldham V Carlisle Boxing Day, then on the 28th I'm down for a player assesment, not sure which game yet, no game as yet new years day, then on monday the 3rd January im down for Huddersfield V Sheffield Wednesday which is a 12.15 kick off, perhaps for TV? I havent checked.

Best way from Chester to Sheffield tomorrow anyone? Assuming moderate snow showers and coldness.
Woodhead/snake pass even likely to be open?

lol, haven't you had like 3 van crashes this year?!
I was hoping for someone who lived by either to perhaps shed some light on how the roads were looking, rather than a generic google map...

I never made it to Sheffield Utd in the end.
The game was still on, but the chap who sorts out all my games living in Peterborough, and his game at MK Dons off, it was easier for him to go up to Sheffield than me take a 40 mile detour in poor weather.
Then boxing day was cancelled, Oldham V Carlisle, then today I was down for Rochdale V Bristol Rovers, cancelled again.
New years day I was due to have a day off anyway, and I'm still down for Huddersfield V Sheff Wed on Jan 3rd.
I've only had 1 game since the 27th of Nov, Stockport V Crewe on 11th Dec. Crazy weather, this is normally chaos for reports time, getting them done the same night usually as the games are thick and fast.
Think I'll have a lot of midweek league games coming up in Feb & Mar.
Oh, and if the Colchester V Oldham was on today, Oldham haven't played since the 27th November, we had precisely 0 reports on them so no bad thing it was cancelled in a way.

Do you do much specific youth scouting? If so, do you look for size/strength over a smaller player with better technique? Do you think English clubs will start following the continentals lead and start developing (giving more chances) to those in the latter category?
Sorry, I read this the day you posted then forgot about it.
I don't do any youth scouting as such, ive been to see the odd u-18 academy game in the past to watch teams for future FA youth cup rounds but thats about it.
I think Prem teams will perhaps try to develop more skillful players, but it could take many years to filter right down through all leagues I think, but surely the aim is to develop players with size/strength/ & skill if poss!

Yeh would love to hear what you think of Wednesday when you have time.
Irvine reckons we need a Striker and a Defender. I reckon RB, CB, 2x CM + new manager.

Sure.
Lots of chances 1st half, somehow only 1 goal.
Like the way Huddersfield play they're too wide players, got a lot of time for both. Irvine will have 100% told his players pre-game to watch Pilks coming inside on his left foot. Still makes it difficult to stop though. Hudd shaved it for me, not sure Weds quite deserved a point.
Not concinced by Rhodes, better impact sub, Novak does well, Alan Lee sweet FA.
Kay and Clarkre are clever CB's, very cynical at times, think Kay will have Mellor's shirt under his finger nails tonight.
Smithies very good again.
Kilbane will be pretty classy in L1, Arfield havent seen enough of.
IMO, Clark is under-achchieving there at the mo, a top 4 side for me, certainly shouldn't have lost as many as they have.
