Finn is playing in his first Ashes so we can't expect alot from him.

On bouncier quicker pitches ? I think he will do well myself.

Sandy
I think he'll do alright but I don't expect him to be top wicket taker.

Why all the negativity about out bowling attack? we have a excellent attack and a team we should get behind and be proud of, unlike those that kick a ball a around!

I think they will do pretty well too, our attack is certainly a lot better than the aussie one, that is our big advantage currently...........

If Anderson/Broad don't do it with the new ball he might get a chance and then he has a good shout. If they do well he has little chance since he has an older Kookaburra and less wickets to get.

mitchel johnson will be pretty devastating though on the bouncy pitches, they haven't got much else though. Anderson is full on ordinary in benign conditions. Broad our best bet probably. Assume Swan will do the best overall. I can't wait, not tken any holidays yet, going to take a week off for the first test and go nocturnal.

UK time what time is play going to be? I remember catching some of it before work last time.
Work from home these days so 6-2's rather than 9-5's might be an option.

Some analysis of spinners performances away from home. I'm confident Swann will take wickets but it does suggest that a seamer may be decent value for top English bowler.

Englands back up seamers all looking good in this game, if england bat well in this series then we will win easy.

I know this is completely against anything that Woodsey would ever do so it's probably not the thread I should be posting such thoughts on BUT.....

Are Australia value @ 13/10 in the first test?

Last 5 series 1st test - 4 Australia wins 1 draw
Last 5 series down under 1st test - 4 Australia wins 1 draw

Not sure if it counts as betting against your team still but Australia to win the test and England to win the series is 12/1. I expect a close series but don't ever remember us being quick starters in the Ashes.

Mmm, I'd say not tbh, Clarke is a doubt for the first game now too. I suppose the 12/1 isn't the worst thing I dunno, the thing is if the Aussies win the first game it will be a close series, if we win I think we will take the series 3-1 minimum.........
