There will be no declaration - even if the game is saved Strauss would rather players got more batting time rather than tiring out bowlers. After the first innings a draw will feel like a win so it will be advantage England - five draws will suit us fine.

No they won't, I have zero interest retaining the ashes that way Angry

Totally agree,If where going to win it I don't want it to be by default.

I think the point is valid though, there's no point in us risking losing to gain a win right now. Also Strauss has never been very adventurous with his declarations so I doubt he'll start now.

so it logically follows that our best chance of winning is to collapse this morning then bowl them out!

but I'd take the bat for two sessions and move on, now, lol

I'm not much of a statto but we can't have had many 25 year old openers for England who've played as many tests with such a solid record. Take a bow.

Actually got to go out in the morning so giving it a miss tonight. Can't be anything but a draw.

what was the comment when they were corpsing about 'throbbing with anticipation'?

how can our opening batsman (cook) be completely unable to play the drive?

Not really sure why you'd want to criticise Cook when he's hit +50 in both innings ? I very much doubt he can't either.

i'm not unhappy with him but he simply doesn't have that shot.

That cover drive seemed tasty enough to me...

I was quite amused when half hour after ACE2M posted this Warne said "Another great cover drive from Cook" Smiley
