Disappointing.

Hussey leaves the ball for an hour first in and then looks to drive. Watson similar and both grind out two scores

We come in chasing 390 and play loads of shots on the front foot from the start and immediately get into trouble

Its about technique and mindset

and a repeat of the Wanderers against Morkel and Steyn last Winter.

I hope Sydney and Melboure are flat, but if I were the Aussies I'd try and prepare another bouncy wicket and test us out again.

Another failure from Collingwood, can't see him getting dropped, but if it was anyone else then they would be on the brink.

talking Bresnan for Collingwood

  Aggerscricket  Jonathan Agnew
Aus plan: green pitches. 4 seamers. What do Eng do? Drop Swann? No. Play extra seamer and weaken batting? http://bbc.in/gLb06a Fascinating

The way Collie is playing, it doesn't really weaken the batting!

3-1 to aussie?

not a chance

we couldnt play much worse in this game if we tryed, our bowling barring tremlett and a little bit of swann was actualy very very poor. we can bowl so much better than we have in this match, the aussie's bowled very very close to their peak imo.

and we might aswel not have batted with how easily we gave our wickets away.

would hate to see us got with 4 front seem bowlers, we need to strength in the batting, if prior was in decent nick with the bat i wouldnt mind this so much but we need 6 front line batsmen. Also, bell needs to bat at 5, far too much class to be batting with the tail.probably Morgan should come in for Collingwood and bat at 6 i think, Colly just looks so out of form so might aswel give somebody else a bash. Morgan is a pretty cool customer so i dont think being thrown into the middle of an Ashes series will phase him too much.

one things for sure we can improve from this performence so much, and i fully expect us to come back flying after some turkey and gravy

If anyone listened to what Hussain said after the test, then he pretty much got it spot onto the state of both sides, even though we were outplayed in this test, we are the better side.

Colly has to go, will be for Bresnan as we need the extra bowler.
Would love to see Shazad(sp)picked. His skiddy, swinging style would bring a different element to the line up. He can also bat a bit.
I would probs rest Finn, he doesn't bowl well consistently enough, and always gives too many runs away.

3-1 to aussie?
2-2 imho

England are the better team but The Aussies are not going to want to get beat on their own patch and will prepare wickets similar to this one. They will also now be motivated.

The rerun of the 2005 series is good - that was hell of a series.

Surprised Aussies are favourites though.

Need to play 5 bowlers, but need to have batting strength down the order............how we miss Fred.

I think the question with Finn is his physical strength, or not. Looked to be under pressure, on his body, at times in Perth

Doubt they'd drop him, but wouldn't be surprised to see him break down before the end of ther tour

His wicket taking of course compensates for the too many 4-balls he bowls

Herbal tea? obviously not. Anyone can see he is shot to bits. Tremlett providing decent height and bounce gives England the chance to get a different type of bowler in whilst giving Finn the rest he obviously needs
