Yeah you definitely sound biased. I would suggest your revelation is rather ghey though. You have managed to find 4 posts on one thread out of 1500+ posts. Obv this proves I post on cash all the time. Why don't you count the total and come back and tell me when you're done. The reality is I think you sound childish mate and I really don't see you picking on me. Your horse Greeky makes the stats up. Also Greeky wtf you want some long term 12-month commitment off me now?
Oh whatever. When have you actually ever played any poker? Because I couldn't find any PHA threads started by you since March 09 or any real hand histories ever? I looked at 2 threads on cash hands and found posts by you in one of them, if we extrapolate then that means that you have posted on 50% of all cash hand analysis threads ever, do you really expect me to go through looking for all your "analysis" posts, because I can sum them all up right now. They all go something like this:
Quote from: MANTIS01 on March 04, 2009, 10:59:15 AM
Quote from: Royal Flush on March 04, 2009, 05:00:37 AM
So you think his range is 100% of hands i don't get what the discussion is?
When did I say his range is 100% of hands? So check it out, there's no discussion right? After being jammed against the last two rounds if we raise this time and he jams it's an insta-call no discussion right?
So put yourself in the bb now James. You know if you jam this time the sb calls quick cos there's no discussion. Are you jamming with 100% of hands? That would be pretty stupid. That is the discussion my friend.
This perfect example of your circular logic is in the first 3 posts of the first thread of yours that I opened. It gets worse. TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR POSTS. Are you posting looking for advice and discussion or are you just telling us what you think? Clue: that question is rhetorical. You don't even concede these are your opinions, you state them as if they're facts you've proved in one of your public school debates, all rigorously deduced from some fundamental poker theorem you've made up that you somehow hold as axiomatic.
All this I could swallow if you were Phil fucking Ivey or even Jon fucking Kalmar, at least I've actually seen him play. Forget the fucking challenge with Greekstein, play anyone on the forum, or post a hand history or 3, or better yet post a graph or some stats OR ANYTHING THAT INDICATES YOU ACTUALLY WIN AT ACTUAL POKER, or stfu and get off the hand analysis forum.
My bet is that you can't because that would expose you as the terrible nit you are, crippled by your internal 'logic' that tells you that you can't ever bluff when you might be bluffing, or value bet thin when you might be value betting, or do anything except nut-peddle in an extremely exploitable way.
How's that for childish and 'ghey'?
PS. Sigh, you actually made some OK posts recently Mantis, I even thought for a minute we could get along. I've calmed down since writing this post now and was considering not posting it, but I think you should know this stuff, or it will just go on forever. Can we get an ultimatum from the mods or something, Mantis has to actually prove he plays some poker to earn the right to post in PHA all the time? I don't go around posting on concert pianists' or rally drivers' forums constantly doling out shit advice..

It's probably best you do calm down. If you came up to me in a casino or wherever and tried to speak to me like that I'd knock you spark out. Not saying that in a nasty way, it's just a reality. The fact you think it's ok to take that tone with people on a forum is very childish yeah. I was willing to come and play at dtd in good faith but whatever.

Hand analysis posters should be judged on the content and quality of their posts and not on their ability to produce sharkscopes, hendon mob profiles, OPRs or whatever.
In the general sense, it's not so ridiculous an idea that someone wanting to talk about how they think when they play poker hands wishes to remain annonymous.
Certainly PHA shouldn't be judged based on the outcome of lol live poker grudge matches that are being discussed.
What if Mantis were to beat Greekstein? Are we to then ignore all Greekstein's hand analysis posts and closely study those of Mantis?
If you want to call Mantis out, attack what he posts, and argue as to why you think it's flawed. If this has been done time and time again and no-one takes him that seriously anymore then you've already won.

Not commenting myself on the quality of Mantis' posts but if he is posting nonsense then this isn't necessarily a bad thing? Other people can argue the point and it prompts debate, enabling people to look at situations in ways they might not have done so otherwise. etc.

You sometimes try and hold over me in debates using your frilly and fancy language Mantis. It often works in the eyes of others and makes you seem clever.
Then Keys comes on and absolutely pwns the hell out of you and you threaten to knock him out. wp. (Little hint here - Keys is one of the nicest, friendliest guys I've ever met in poker. You can see that the way ppl like myself, George2Loose, Hopkin and Evilpie are comedy fanboys sometimes).
Really he's said nothing wrong and all his points are accurate and based on fact. No one cares about who posts in PHA. You have a condescending tone, write in unnecessarily long paragraphs but most importantly, you present your point of view as fact or the correct one when often it is so far from the optimal way to play a hand it's untrue.
You challenge him to go through all your posts. Why should he? You're the one who said you'd only posted twice on cash hands when at a 2 minute glance he found 4 posts. We know you're talking rubbish already.
For once, why don't you stop twisting EVERYTHING with fancy language and answer some of the valid points in question.
I'm sure once you did that, arseholes like me and nice guys like James would leave you alone.

To an extent this is true, for the first few thousand posts. After that it might become a bit of a pain in the bum tho no?

i pointed out Mantis' politicians answering style over 18 months ago (probs when i first posted on PHA) - it has continued as a relentless drone since.
The irony is - that on occasion his posts are sensible at their core, but wrapped up in so much drivle, i cant bring myslef to read them!
Maybe Mantis, you should realise that your posts are not always good strategy advice, and that there are better players on here who offer great advice (on on occasion they too are off the mark). So maybe sometimes accept that you got it wrong, or that there is a better way to play a hand
But the simple reailty of the fact is this, if i was offered advice by 5 high stake regs, 5 reg players, and 5 mantis types, that would be the order in which I would ingest their posts, given that option.
oh and mantis - try posting hands sometimes

I want to say that I quite like Mantis. Think he's good for the community and that, his alternative perpective has some value.
Think my opinion may be largely to do with me skimming over pretty much everything he writes on PHA without actually reading it.
I like him tho, and as thread (the parts that I haven't skimmed over without actually reading) has taken on a nasty tone, I'm a bit worried that the intent is to hound the poor guy out of town.
One more thing, Greekstein said that he was worried people would be unduly impressed by Mantis because he occasionaly owned Greekstein with carefully chosen flowery words.
Don't be too concerned I would say, it's not squaring the circle. I doubt many people would be too impressed with a labrador retriever who owned Greekstein with carefully chosen flowery woofs.

Also thought this myself,I was close to having a go at a couple of newbie posters who decided to join in the mocking which really wound me up.Obviously everybody isn't going to like each other but as far as I'm aware Mantis hasn't actually done anything wrong other than posting debatable analysis of hands so I don't see any reason why pleasantries can't be exchanged and nothing more.

Because they don't want to improve?
Plenty of people make terrible posts. None present them in such terrible ways.
