The Anchorman this week is Compo.

Helsinki is the featured Venue, Brighton is being held over until NEXT week.

The opening "link" is something of an oddity - Rhowena sitting on a giant cannon, a bit "Cher style"......

Rhow "The Bok" then does another Link fom the Venue, just after the comp began, in which she comments that with 20,000 starting chips & a 1 hour clock, even tikay can't bust out.

Then she interviews me after I'd busted out inside the first level.......

There is also some pre-Final footage from Helsinki, mostly inteviews with early bustees, including Joe Grech.

Part Two shows & interviews most of the Finalists, plus a Profile of Joe Grech.

We discuss the Rankings, and stuff.

There will be a Live Phone-In spamming the show at around 6pm this evening on "4/5" on Channel 425, featuring, if I'm not mistaken, Charlie the Talking Cat, &, if I can get a word in edgeways, me.

So it is Rhow's fault then for your early exit then - as she put "the kiss of death" on you before the tourney had even begun?!?!? Wink

No, it was the Poker God's fault. They heard me going round telling eveyone what a great structure it was, & how only a numpty could bust out early. So they contrived a situation where I put all my chips in when drawing pretty much dead. A genuine candidate for "Worst Play of the Year". But lets not take anything away from the boy J P Kelly, he played his set beautifully, & fooled me into thinking he could not POSSIBLY have that hand.

i read the report you had given in another thread - just trying to offer a more reasonable explanation as to why a winner of a recent ranking festival event could have been eliminated from a well structured tourney!!

Is there any coverage of the Blonde League Final Table because i was in my scruffs with no make up on  Grin.

Plus they where some real dodgy characters on the Rail defo faces for Radio.

Cheers

It was what Thewy & me say to each other before Tourneys "NO MOMS". A MOM is a "MOMENT OF MADNESS".

And I was seriously hacked off with myself. I have never, ever, not even once moaned about a Bad Beat, they truly never trouble me, & I would not play poker if they did, & of course, they cut both ways.

But MOM's, well that's different, they drive me insane. All the way to Helsinki, & then I go & do that!

Gotcha Silo.

Yes, I, & the Anchorman, frequently spam the "Poker 425 blonde Forum", both in passing, and directly, usually with reference to Live Updates. "blondepoker" as such, no, that would be a bit too cheeky, but "Poker 425 blonde Forum" does get plenty of namechecks.

"Commercial considerations" give me more headaches than you could ever imagine, though I am certainly not complaining.

In this week's 425, I am interviewed at the Helsinki Venue. Usually, I wear a blondepoker shirt, but I have a William Hill or Poker 425 Branded Shirt with me, just out of courtsey to the Programme & Forum. In Helsinki, for no other reason than that I forgot, I happened to be wearing a Sporting Odds.com shirt, & in the interview, this is clearly & prominently visible. And in fact, I DO have a deal ( NOT a sponsorship deal, except on occasional one off ocasions) with Sporting Odds, so I guess they'd be happy about that, but Poker 425 not so. So I mentioned it to the Producer, & again today to Bobby1 (Mr Phil Quayle, of William Hill) & they both said "no problemo, we want "balance", so that's a relief.

And then, only yesterday, another dilemma arose. Mr Ladbroke very kindly invited me to go on their cruise in January. Because they like me? I think not. Because I'm a jolly good fella? Ditto. So I said thank you very much, but I need to speak to my & blonde's other commercial partners. I spoke to Bobby1 again, he was fine, "just do it Tony, & be sensible & even-handed in any Posts you make about it". I need to chat with some other Partners about it, too.

I just think honesty & open-ness is the best way forward.

Tricky calls, though, as I like my business partnerships to be long-term, I'm not in it for a quick buck, & I like to give value.

Yes, I'm THE luckiest guy in poker, especially given my position on the poker ability ladder, but these potential conflicts of interest do worry the life out of me.

Not a bad prob to have, I guess! ah well, it may all end tonmorrow, so I'm loving it whilst it lasts. And if it does all end? No regrets, none at all. Poker, & the people in it, have been marvellous to me.
