Joe, what was the problem with opening? Licence problems?

To be honest I am not sure how much I can say other than that there was a last minute legal issue that was felt better resolved than ignored. It's been a long 5 years of jumping through hoops but club should finally be properly open in September!

What about those poor souls that might have turned up for the August tourney schedule that's posted on the site........... Cheesy

It does say in various places that the opening has been delayed and it is nice to get an idea of what might be running there when it is properly open but I agree it might have been better to remove 'August' and replace it with 'sample monthly' or similar. At least there is plenty to do around there ;-).

How familiar does that sound?

Best of luck with it all.

Has this place got a casino license (like DTD), or is it running as a member's club (like The International/Gutshot)?

They have slot machines so I assume full casino licence.

I received two notes today, one was canvassing votes for Tony Holden, the other was from Bluff Europe, who are organising the British Poker Awards, which were due to be held at the Fox Club on September 13th, & both mentioned a venue change.

The British Poker Awards will now be re-located to The Kensington Close Hotel.

Unfortunate for The Fox.....but good to see the LPC pick up this event.

Phil has worked very hard getting the LPC up and running and at a far cost to his hotel company.........and it seems to be running well now.

Friday 10th September 2010 – The Fox Poker Club in association with PKR.com are delighted to announce the new opening date of London’s first ever premier poker club will be on Friday 24th September 2010.

Doors officially open from 12pm and the club will run an open door policy with all members welcome to attend. There will be 2 exciting tournaments, a £25 + £5 Bounty No Limit Hold’em Freeze-out and a £50 No Limit Hold’em Double Chance Freeze-out scheduled at 2pm and 7pm respectively, with cash games also running throughout the day.

Chris North, managing director of Fox Poker Club, comments:

“I am pleased to finally announce our new opening date and hope to see as many of you as possible on the 24th. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our members for their patience and kind support with our opening and hope you enjoy what we have in store for the upcoming months!”

The delayed launch party will be held on the 8th October, full details to be released next week. Further information including the club’s full Tournament Schedule can be found online at www.foxpokerclub.com.
