have you got paypal set up as a payment option on your auctions?  Probably better to do this if you're ok taking payments via paypal and get him to bid for the item on ebay rather than making it a private sale.

i doubt anyone could do anything just by knowing the email address your paypal account is registered to.  all sounds a bit odd though.

i stuck "Due to military security reasons I'm restricted from leaving the unit's facility under any purpose" into google and it brings up details of scams, but seems to be people who are selling cars rather than trying to buy stuff.  Even so, steer clear imo.

My guess would be he pays with stolen CC, his 'shipping agent' is him and he takes the goods and paypal take the money back. You moan and they tell you to GFY as he didn't win the auction.

You'll still get screwed over by Paypal when the cc chargeback comes through.

Just junk his mail, it's a scam.

Don't do it,

if you sell outside eBay and you get fucked there will not help you,

what he is planning on doing after about 30 days he will say he has not recive the item and then you will have 14 days to prove you have posted it since he sent his only shipping you can't do that and paypal will refund him the money,

eBay will always help the seller so this is why he wants to do the deal without eBay knowing

IMO te him to bid for the item and if he wins it then you will be happy doing that way and you will -all shippings costs

I have a furniture shop online, and I get something a little similar.

Emails saying, can you supply me with some ladder back chairs, please tell me which you have...  then they say they wasnt like 6 grands worth but, sent to some other country, and, they will pay the shipping using their shipping agent, but, my website logs IP addresses, and I give them a product to look at, and when i watch who is looking at that product, i see the ip address of people viewing, so I reverse lookup IP address, and although they asked for a shipment to Spain, they are in fkin Nigeria or Ghana...  Its the same scam every time. The shipping agents emails are also same IP address..

I understand, they dont want the 50 coffee tables they just paid you for...  They assign a shipping agent (themselves) that the con man pays for to you, so you can pay the uk shipping agent on their behalf...  Their shipping agent wants Western Union money orders sent to somewhere...  You pay it... shipper never turns up...  credi card company claws the whole lot...  you end up a few grand out of pocket because you cant get them money orderes back..

I sometimes pay them along.  Someone wanted 50 coffee tables sending to australia.. Created a product on my website called Maxwell House Coffee Table... Photo of jar of coffee...  they guy obv never even looked because he kept emailing me like he wanted 50 coffee tables... he even sent me 4 credit card numbers and expory and cvs numbers by email and told me to use those £800 per time to keep it low etc...  LOL..

But, some people get caught..!!
