Still 8 handed, Wu back in it after raising pre, called by Garrett, betting the A high flop and pushing the turn uncalled

Generally the short stacks are showing commendable patience, and the bigger stacks are winning and losing amongst themselves in equal measure

With the average still 25x bb and no clear leader, I am clearing my late night diary.**

Lawrence ftw
Logged

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Lawrence ftw

Lawrence is a real character.

Quite the most acerbic sense of humour since I don't know when

I am watching the final table behind Wagner, who has an interestingly unconventional habit of limping into two thirds of pots. Gosney then usually raises

The action comes back to Wagner and Lawrence leans over and asks me "tell me what's he's got pal. Will help me out"

I tell him that I haven't seen and Lawrence gives me a stare like a Leeds United fan after Leicester City have hit a habitual last minute winner against them

He holds the glare for 90 seconds or so, then breaks into a huge grin, just as I am wondering if I am about to be lamped.

Fun times updating in 2010. Always watch your back

and in this current break Lawrnce sidles over to update corner and says

"Now who's been writing shite about me on that blonde Poker?"

Adam stammers, then bolts under the desk

I say "well you are a character Lawrence, lots to talk about because of your speechplay"

"OK then, just to say, I am never on tilt and I am the King of Yorkshire"

(OK so I made the King of Yorkshire bit up)

Fav Lawrence quote was at the FT of this event in march 09.

A deal was being discussed but the offer wasn't good enough in his eyes. When he turned it down he said, "They must have chocolate for bollox and straw for brains, now deal the fn cards."

chip counts

Twit T-Wu 153000

McBink 246500

Garrett 555000

Titcombe 461000 (Gosney said "he can definitely play")

Brion 623000

Wagner 376000

Pearce 230000

Gosney 250000

Lawrence tells me he had to lay down AK/AQ/77 to big post flop action before the break, mainly from the German and Brion, and has done a lot of chips

Wu just doubled up again.

He limped preflop UTG+1 and Wagner made up the SB. Kevin Pearce checked the BB and they saw a Two Clubs flop. All 3 checked and then suddenly, Wagner open-shoved the turn!

Pearce passed and Wu snapped. As you do when you have for quads. Wagner had two spades and was drawing rather dead...
