£450 for the best ticket for 10,000M seems ridiculously toppy.
I thought the Olympics was meant to be accessable for all, even £50 for the cheapest seat is far too expensive imo.

Blatant lets figure out the bandings when we see how many people will buy each one so we can maximise our profit.
There will end up being 4 band E tickets available and they're on top of the floodlights.

Basically, this. It's quite clever what they're doing. People are going to be annoyed when their Band B tickets are up in the roof.

The prices are ridiculous all round.
Just had a look at some unusual events, and the cost is at least twice as much as I expected.
Sport for all. LOL.

I don't know. There seems to be loads of things you can go see for £20, including main stadium stuff. Just not event finals.
But, that does depend on whether you'll actually be able to see anything with a Band E ticket I suppose.

As said earlier in the thread, how can we say which band we want to buy without knowing where the seats are.

Centre court tickets at Wimbledon for £30 doesn't sound too bad though!

Seb Coe was saying on the radio that 2/3rds of tickets are £20 max. I haven't looked so dunno if that is true.

It's the same session that has the last event for the Heptathlon as well - and I imagine there'll be a clamour for people to get tickets for that.

That is true they had certain promises they were meant to keep - they haven't because I think they were intending for 3/4 of the tickets to be at the cheapest end - but they've got to come close. £450 for the best ticket for 10,000M seems ridiculously toppy. ...
Fits into the general scheme they have that the over-priced top end subsidises the cheap end. Don't know if they've cheated by including all the bits you can see for free as part of the ticket total - it seems just too obvious for them to be able to get away with it if they did.

If they know how many tickets are going to be in each price band, then they should be able to publish seating charts. Seems a bit of con somewhere along the line. I can imagine the qualifying rounds of a lot of events will be in that price range - but it's the events with the demand that they'll charge the higher prices for.

So if I go for a top ticket for the 100m final can I not confirm that the top band ticket will actually be the same side of the stadium as the 100m track? (Apologies not been on the site as yet and just trying to sum up what you guys are saying).

As I think I said before, half the athletics tickets will be for the morning sessions which are just qualifying with no medals given out. There's no way they sell 80,000 tickets for this every day - if they don't allow pay on the gate for these there'll be huge expanses of empty seats.

You won't get a ticket for the 100m final - you get a ticket for the athletics session that includes the 100m final. In theory that means it could be the prime position to see one of the other events going on in that session - but that would be a bit odd. I can't see how the top price tickets for that session won't be the ones with the best view of the 100m final.
