Mancini to leave this year?
(Skybet write....)
Mancini now odds-on to leave City this season
Roberto Mancini is now an odds-on chance with Sky Bet to leave Manchester City this season amid speculation that his departure from Eastlands could be imminent. Reports of discord in the dressing room and mounting pressure on the Italian following back-to-back defeats to Arsenal and struggling Wolves have seen his odds of leaving the club this term slashed to 8/11 from 2/1. The odds of a pre-Christmas departure have been chopped to 5/2 from 7/1.
In the Premier League sack race betting, Mancini has come into 4/1 third favourite, prompting Sky Bet to frame a market on who will succeed him at the helm of the top flight’s wealthiest club. Former Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill has been installed as 7/2 frontrunner for the job.
Sky Bet’s football betting spokeswoman Helen Jacob said: “City have made a worse start under Mancini than under Mark Hughes last season and it’s looking increasingly likely that he will suffer the same fate as his predecessor, with players allegedly second guessing when, not if, he will leave the club.”
City have won just five of their opening 10 league matches and are now eight points adrift leaders Chelsea. They have been lengthened to 4/11 (from 2/9) to win a Champions League place, with their title odds drifting to 14/1 (from 8/1).
Elsewhere in the Premier League sack race betting, Roy Hodgson has been pushed out to 7/2 (from 6/5) after Liverpool’s late winner at the Reebok saw him get his first away win in 14 months. Following a gamble last week on Newcastle’s Chris Hughton being the next top flight manager to be sacked, the Magpies boss is now out to 5/1 thanks to his side’s 5-1 drubbing of Sunderland on Sunday.

According to an article in the Echo today, apprarently the MCFC players can't stand him
I thought it might be a decent bet...once he's lost the dressing room, and with trigger happy owners.....?

News of the world sports editor (lol) was on sky sports news this morning talking about this and he also knows that the players are fed up with him and lots of different player camps emerging.
Good bet.

How does Yaya Toure manage to earn a zillion a week or whatever?
He plays like Lee Carsley with longer legs.

Personally don't like this bet. I think mancini must be given time, i think he is a decent manager who will produce eventually. Obviously depends on if he's given the time, just think a lot of ppl are stirring to create a story.
Hughes was surely got rid of too quickly and i can't believe the owners will just keep firing each manager until immediate success is achieved. Football just dsnt work like that.
Having said all this, if come christmas city are still losing to teams like wolves then i'm sure he'll struggle to see the new year.

His tactis are all wrong for English football. You shouldn't be playing 3 DCM players in a home game against a team your expected to beat comfortably and that's what they did against us and I believe he's used the same tactics in most games. They where very lucky to get the win against us and they don't seemed to have played that well in many games this season,he's been there long enough now to be expecting them to be starting to gel as a team.

Half the first choice team (including hart) have only been involved this season.
I don't think they can be expected to fully gel that quickly, and anyway they are not exactly doing terribly right now.

It seems to me they haven't had a long term plan.
Any time a decent player is available they snap him up but they seem to have too many similar players.
Barry and Toure/ Jo and Adebayor/ Tevez and Silva.
Why haven't they bought a creative midfielder? Or an out and out goal scorer?

I agree they couldn't be expected to fully gel,but to start resembling a team wouldn't be to much to expect.I'm more against his tactics then anything.

They hammered us. Not that means anything though

I'd say both silva and milner are creative although perhaps not in a xavi or fabergas way.
Tevez scores more than enough goals to be classed as such imo.
Agree they have too many similar players, tbh i think that is the problem, keeping everyone happy which is clearly impossible.
Adam johnson for example is a superb player on the bench far too often, but they do have silva. I still think they will be top 4.

They definitely have too many good players. The silva/johnson situation is ridiculous, he has one of the most in form wingers in the world in johnson but he has to pay silva because he cost 30m or whatever, silva is excellent btw but just a daft situation.

They look good against good teams imo. Looked good against Arsenal with 10 men for most of the game. Beat Chelsea in what was a pretty even game. They seem to look set up for teams to attack them.
Could do with being a bit more attacking against weaker teams, maybe Silva Tevez Johnson as a front 3 with Milner Toure and De Jong in midfield. Possibly drop Silva into midfield when Balotelli is back up to speed.
Not league winners but not a crisis imo. If they keep him i'd expect them to get top 4 but not sure if what the owners plans are.
