its a air rifle, let the kid have fun at home. Why does this country try wrapping everyone up in cotton wool
air rifles can and have killed
U can kill someone with a toothpick if u stab them 1,000,000 times with it.
U can also kill someone with a hair off your head

guns don't kill, it is people that kill and they don't need guns to do it.

This cliche annoys me more than any other.

Guns belong in the hands of professional people.

Certainly not kids.

Cars kill way more people than guns (in the UK at least). A disproportionate number of these deaths are young people. Yet we still teach them to drive.

They say only3% of people are killed by drunk drivers in the Uk
As to 97% of other drivers not drunk

It would be safer if everyone drove pissed according to those statistics

I'd like to see some proper gun clubs in this country... places where you could experience the firing of guns..with the club obv keeping the guns etc... i don't advocate people owning guns and keeping them in their own homes but I don't think theres anything wrong with a few licensed strictly run gun clubs.

TBH i thought these actually existed in this country...until my wife and I went to join a 'gun ' club a few years ago but all we found were lots of blokes in camouflage outfits shooting airguns.. when i enquired whether they had access to proper handguns they all looked at me as if I had raped their first born.. I never knew our gun laws were so draconian... pretty ironic really when you think you can buy fully automatic SMG's from a bloke down the pub so you can do your best Gangbanger impression with your Homies... anyway these blokes were more scary than any gun they could have produced..they were actually crawling through the undergrowth on sniping missions ffs.

I agree only professional people ... police etc should have guns..

Its possible the biggest fight would have been who got to pull the trigger first.. however in those days i was worth more dead than alive so wouldnt have fancied my chances with her appetite for money..

I agree only professional people ... police etc should have guns..

seems like a balance opinion

shooting is an excellent thing for people to learn in the right environment. It sounds like you have had a bad experience - and in the example you gave above  - i would be all for the police turning up and confiscating their guns and licences and sending them to play paintball.

I have taught 100's of people to shoot (some casually, some went on to be good shots). I have even taught younger kids (14-16), and its amazing how even the little scrotes can be turned into well disciplined shooters if taught in the right way from day 1 (hence my original comment in this thread). If they know how they are expected to behave around guns, and they know they wont get to shoot if they step slightly out of line, they will just do things right by way of good habit.

We have good gun laws in this country, but gun laws or not - if you are intent on getting a gun for illegal purposes - the laws dont matter either way surely?
