actually as a touni noob i'd be quite interested to know what the bottom of our shoving range should be in this spot with 12bbs.
Also, how many bbs would it take to make AKss an open rather than a shove? Would this change for AA?

My range is something like 33+,A8s+,A10+, KJs+ (might change a bit given the payouts and opponents). Oh and yeah against live donks I deffo make it 15k with kk+.
Adjustments when in EP are a lot more payout structure than opponent dependent in this spot.

Ace King is a drawing hand. I want a made hand to put all my chips in with.
Unless someone has already raised, in which case you should always back raise with it.

Cheers for all of the replies. I did shove, and took the pot down uncontested.
Unfortunately, i was knocked out in seventh a few orbits later when shoving my still 71k stack UTG with QQ after the blinds had just increased to 5k/10k/1kra.
The main reason that i asked the question was that on speaking with a friend, re thought that maybe AK suited was a bit too good to be shoving with and that maybe i should just raise, or even limp in order to get some action with it. I pretty much ruled out the limp option due to the danger of seeing a multi handed flop and getting KO'd by something silly. I did think that making a standard raise was a worth considering, with the intention of getting them in on any flop, however, usually when i try anything like that i end up coming unstuck and, as Greekstein says, it's not a made hand.
Cheers anyway-Happy New Year to you all

any hand where you win without a showdown is a great result
no need to be silly, get it in, if called great, no-one calls great as well more chips

Surprisingly I don't agree with anyone itt. I think your mate is abs right and you should be looking for value with a premium hand when you're sitting on half the average. A standard raise at a live table invites your oppos to make the mistake of jamming with hands you crush. A seemingly tight player jamming 71k from ep never gets action from worse...and you want action from worse.

possibly in this particular vacuum of live play, but in overall theory we should be jamming everything here, and it's not even close imo

Maybe I am incredibly bad but I call a 12bb shove with quite a few worse hands and my calling range is wider for a jam than it would be for a standard raise from someone UTG with 12bb. Am I doing something wrong here??

I'm more likely to put chips in the middle if you shove than if you limp/minraise, therefore, shove.

What is op's image? It reads like we could peg him as a newish player. A player who hasn't shown any hands or played any pots of note. I don't know why we would be inclined to donk call a big chunk of our chips off when he jams from ep at the ft. However, if op is at a table with a queue of heroes behind who will call based on what they think his range should be rather than what it actually is then sure, jam away.

if we are playing well, we're going to be jamming quite a wide assortment of hands in this spot yes? we start just opening AK, now we have to open other stuff as well and then people are going to start peeling cos they love that live and we're going to srat either raise folding of 12bbs or trying to play postflop with no stack
Just Jam, jam this hand and many other hands here and save the advanced/fancy stuff for when we have more than 3 chips

Longy, why do you deffo make it 15k with KK against live donks? If you do that you will then have to open other stuff as well and then people are going to start peeling cos they love that live. Balancing your range is an important consideration with a 12bb stack. I'm surprised you don't know this.
