Thank you all.
Thanks for posting Chompy.
Thanks for all the texts and e-mails etc.
Bit stunned to be honest. I knew she was ill, was only this week I had revealed to Cos on the phone that something wasn't really right. Didn't think it would be this quick though.
RIP Ma. xx

I phoned my Dad yesterday to check in and see everything was ok, and it was.
Long story short, he rings me at 5.30 ish about my mum, I get there, sit around for an hour or so waiting for people to turn up/phone etc, and my dad says something like 'what time do you have to be at the school reunion for?
LOL, I think he was a bit shocked and didn't really know what he was saying.

Dropped in to see him today and he was ok. He spent the night at my sister's last night, and the same again tonight.
Will spend most of tomorrow with him watching the football. Then will help him sort stuff out next week.
Then, the new year aims and targets start again! It's just made me more determined to achieve what I want to achieve this year.

So with my Dad at my sister's I didn't really fancy staying in. Kirsty was due to meet her sister in London for a show and seemed to be not that keen on going after what had happened. She was very close to my mum. They loved each other. Even after we split my Mum would introduce her to people as her daughter in law. I told her that she should go and I used the excuse to get out and join her on the tube to London with the intention of going to play some poker. Not really sure if it's right or not, but it felt ok to me. I've done the sitting at home stuff when Holly died last year and it's not really helpful to me.
Had a wander around Leicester Square and went into the Empire. Played some cash and left after Kirsty's show had finished. Had some dinner and watched a fight between two girls outside the restaurant. A crowd of 200 odd gathered to watch, cheer and encourage. There were even some people taking pictures and filming it on their phone. Then the police turned up after about 10 minutes and the crowd dispersed.
What a strange species the human is sometimes.

Oh and Cos, in case you forgot, you said you are taking me to Gauchos next week. And paying. And i'm not to argue or you are gonna give me a big kiss from that place that I'm from that you couldn't remember. I think he meant Glasgow.

don't worry about what's right and wrong to be doing right now Vinny - what's right for one isn't right for another. do whatever sits comfortably with you and sod what anyone else might think. just one rule though - take care of yourself x

Sits ok with me. Prob wouldn't with other members of my family, but my mum wouldn't mind. And that's all that matter to me.

i know that it actually helps. When my my passed away i done the whole sitting at home with my dad. Ady got me out of the house and took me to play. I was reluctant to leave my dad but it done us both good. Only a few people knew about my home situation that night so it helped to just have some sort of normality for those few hours have me time to clear my head and refocus. Also gave my dad some time to grieve in private and have the time to reflect. I didnt know your mum but if she was anything like mine she would want you to do the stuff that makes you happy.
