I have said what I did and you are still on the flop.

Tell me how you would play each street...

Honestly Vin if I was calling pre I'd be very careful.

You have to have a general plan set out when you decide to call, with no history at all I'm happier with the attempt to find out if we're crushed pre, but if I had called I don't think i'd be making any aggressive action during the hand. So I would be calling the 4k and folding if he bets the turn. I'm less happier doing this than raising pre because i'll be assuming that a random down there is more likely to 2 barrel a bluff rather than 4 bet shoving weak.

Just re-read what he bet on the turn and the hand gets even more annoying for you. This is the nature of your situation now, calling another 4k makes it very hard to fold to a shove on the river, so if I found myself in this situation I would puke slightly and fold.

I understand that you'll be clutching for any reads you can pick up during the hand, but I don't like shoving the turn. If you think you're ahead because he's bet so small on the turn then I think it's better to call then try and get the rest on the river. If you think he's bluffing on two streets he might try again on the river, but you're not getting called by anything worse than you on the turn, so if you're ahead any value you're going to get is on the river.

We can't raise/fold this hand pre.

We either flat or raise/call.

Fold and raise/fold are not options pre flop.

You will not win at poker if you think / play like this.

OK, as i said he bet 4k on the turn, I just felt he wasn't totally happy with his hand so I set him in.

When he snapped I thought, oooops. He flipped 10-J Smiley

Still thinking I have played it wrong though.

Thanks for the input.

Celtic won 1-0, Rangers lost by the same scoreline to Hearts.

5 points clear and Rangers have two games in hand. And Hearts are right up there too.

I love it when it's like this. I hated it when we would be 21 points ahead in February, It was rubbish. And obv hated it when Rangers were 21 points ahead too.

Next up for us is Hearts on Wednesday night at home. Won't be easy but I think we will scrape a 4-0 win.

Had lunch with my Dad today then we went to see my Mum. She is doing OK and due home Monday or Tuesday. She has a new patient in her ward whose hearing is not the best and has to shout at everyone, and everyone has to shout at her. Which is OK until she needs the toilet at 3am and wakes everyone else up in the ward asking for her comode.

Went to the £100er at Luton and played well, right up until I played bad:( Well, I had top pair Q kicker v Pino and 3bet him all in on a J 7 6 flop. He had 76. The whole prob stemmed from me accidentally limping for 4k with JQ. What a dick. Think normally though it's profitable to get it in there v Pino as he is capable of stacking off with worse Jacks or less. Nae mind, done now. £100 saver for 8th in a field of 30.

Don't really understand why the Sunday comp is struggling for numbers. There is a £100 comp down the Vic with a quicker structure and half the chips and gets more runners. Also, the Monday night comp and Thursday comps, which admittedly lower buy ins but get far more runners.

Will be a lot better once the sunday comp has a gtd prize pool.

Comps played: 14

Total buy ins: £1254

Total Cashed: £2330

Cash Games: £-360

Profit/Loss: +£716

I play too much poker.

Totally agree - is this on George's agenda?
What about a return to a 4.30 start too?
We used to get 60+ runners when it started earlier!

I have suggested to the new supervisor that Sunday would work better with an earlier start. Also a 4k gtd prize pool will increase numbers I think. Then when it picks up again increase to 5k.

Thoughts?

I want to have a guarantee put onto the £50, the £75 and the £100. Granted, I have to justify these first. Work in progress.

I'll look into an earlier start time upon Sunday. It's a different perspective as the most popular choice at present appears to be a straight swap with the Friday night £75.

Vinny do you think the Blonde league has help/hindered the Luton comps at all.

Do you think the need for savers and chops in nearly every comp is a good thing for the players?
