2012 ResultsThis will be the last time I post my results on this diary. From next year I'm going to keep it all private. I should've stopped this a while ago to be honest, but just for the sake of completeness I will finish the year off and do a brief analysis of how I've done and compare it to 2011 also which'll quite useful.
OK so, the main thing is we've survived!
Let's kick off with the most important thing...
A sexy graph of the year as a whole...

Table breaking it up into the 3 different forms I've played and comparing it to last year

Amazingly similar results to 2011! More or less the same volume, exactly the same hourly! And only £3k less profit. Pretty staggering considering variance and all that...
Put in less than half as many live cash hours, but with 6x the hourly. Mainly due to game selecting better but mainly running super good over the year compared to last year when I ran pretty bad. Replaced those hours with MTT volume - ran really bad over the year, happy with things there though, just ridic variance in those huge fields. At least we're not in the red! Live MTT hours more or less the same and no major bink so obv less profit but still really happy with my work there.
What do these results mean?Like last year, I don't think they mean a whole lot! I've ran well above EV live and well below EV online, but overall ran over EV I'm sure. I don't think I "should" be winning £55k a year playing what I play. I've always aimed for 40 and will be aiming for that again.
It is amazing that my hourly for 2011 was £36.87 and for this year its £36.15! I really don't think this means much though, just a incredible coincidence.
These results don't "prove" anything either. OK they make it pretty likely that I'm a winning poker player. They make it pretty likely I'm a winning live cash player also. Can't conclude anything about my online profitability or my live tournament profitability (both heavily distorted in different directions). You just have to KNOW where you are profitable imo.
Call it delusion, but I have the strength of mind to keep playing online MTTs even though my results over almost a year of playing them suggest it's a waste of my time. And it works the other way too, I not going to start piling all my time and money into live cash and live MTTs, thinking I have a £63 hourly.
I'm way more interested in using my judgement about how profitable I think a certain game / tournament is going to be, rather than using my results to make that decision.
Anyway, the graph is pretty and I'm very happy with how the years gone as a whole which is the main thing. Next year I wanna crush online and have some deece 5fig scores, get a 6figure score live and keep crushing the cash games. Should be eaaaaasyy
