i read a quote somewhere that "its no good being the 8th best player in the world if you only play the best 7 players. you will lose." you need to find the games that are most profitable for you. do you think that the standard of 50/1 player and 1/2 is that much different in nottingham where you could crush one and not the other? strange as this may seem but some people make more money moving up a level because they are playing better players or guys with shit loads of money and dont give a fuck. if you could get someone to back you in a 2/5 or even 5/10 for a couple of sessions in dtd this may be would work well along side any tourney backing. i would much rather give you a grand and say there you go try catch rob yong with his pants down than put you in the monte carlo as i think the former would be more profitable.

didn't you say recently that ppl were foolish turning up at dtd sitting with a grand or two just trying to double up of rob yong? not sure it's as easy as all that.

i said they were foolish turning up EXPECTING to double up off rob. my mate nick slade and andy bradshaw came down from the north west both with the intention of doing so, both left tail between their legs which dont happen that often. this was between xmas and new year. their mate who is a much quieter guy with a different style of play (did not know him) and made a healthy profit. you must approach the game with the attitude that rob has the money behind to stack you off even in you manage a double up or two so only play with money you can afford to lose. you will always know when me and the wife aint talking and i've been kicked out/walked out coz i will be playing a couple of nights of texas in dtd, plo in ireland or dc in sheff / manchester. when i'm at home and content money management is key. when living out of a suitcase who cares about money management

Jase you know that your mate andy bradshaw shouldn't turn up to any game with a grand and expect to leave with more. He's a terrible terrible player.

I must admit Andy ain't everyones cup of tea but both him and nick have had some nice scores. They are actually good for live poker and a pleasure for me to play with em.

my comment is nothing to do with him as a person, I don't know him. He's just a very very bad player.

I thank my lucky stars. My wife has been on at me for ages to get a life and stop upsetting all the losers on face book. Ain't been on sadbook much latley. Instead I much prefer the interaction with all the winners on here.

Andy probably does not claim to be a good player but his record is better than a lot if people who claim to be s good player. In my original statement I worded it carefully tho. "my mate nick Slade and Andy Bradshaw"
