Ran like Mitch in the props too. For the £50 omaha flip we doubled the props, so 10/20/40/100, my faceup cards are and I have black deuces on the props. Board runs out Spade X X Spade two spades to river me the nuts in the flip, and scoop the £40 prop. Awesome end to the night Smiley

Pretty pissed off with the Palm Beach for that debacle on Monday. I went in at around 4 in the afternoon to buy everyone in and when I got to the cash desk there was already a bloke there asking about the tournament. The lady at the desk was explaining to him that they were getting no runners because of the EPT and he should probably try the vic. Even though she was actively discouraging us from playing, I've played it before, iirc it got >100 runners that time and was ridiculously soft so I asked if she could tell me how many runners were regged so far and she said "no", so I asked as a rough guide if she could tell me how many played last month. Visibly frustrated by my persistence she said she could find out and after some rummaging came back with "58". So then I asked if I could buy in now and she said no, there wouldn't be many players so we could buy in at the time. Exasperated, I gave up and decided the 5 of us would play the £1k side at the EPT instead, but Mitch and Alex didn't want to play a 2-dayer so off they went to the Palm Beach where they only got 19 runners in the end. Can't help but feel that if the woman on the desk hadn't spent all day turning people away they might have got a decent field. Not sure what kind of business they want but if I were running a poker room and there was a big poker event in town I would see that as a good chance to attract bigger fields, not a reason to turn players away.

Yeh it was shit, but it was still soft and definitely a +EV spot even though not that great value

Do you do requests? I want to know what you think of the Vic.

7/10

Waitress service 2/10 Hardly ever came round, you had to ask several times for one to come over, mostly ignored
Food quality 4/10 Steak was expensive and pretty woeful
Dealer quality 9/10 Friendly, efficient and competent
Value 5/10 2/5 was full of boring nits, 1/3 and below decent, but people are far more sensible in general than in DTD. Not many spots at any tables.
Massouses 9/10 Niiiiiice Cheesy

But it's a great cardroom with a huge range of stakes and games and it's still the 2nd best place I've ever played in ainec.

There was one pretty befuddling ruling. Raise, call, 3bet. The dealer then deals the flop. The raiser and the caller haven't acted yet. A women came over and ruled that they "don't kill flops". "We can't kill a flop" She kept saying. OK what do we do then? "Their hands are dead". Wtf? The 3better was Mitch and let them take their money back but he didn't have to. Is that a standard ruling?

It's amazing that they employ complete tards in casino's. You'd think that front of house and cash desk is where you'd find informed and customer friendly people but it's usually the opposite

Agree with all this except for:

" but people are far more sensible in general than in DTD. Not many spots at any tables."

The games at DTD are generally tougher and i dont think its even that close. - for 1/2 and 1/3 anyway

I was on the end of a pretty sweet ruling in the Vic.  Game is 5/10 utg opens to 30, cutoff calls 30, action is on me in the SB.  Im watching this crazy blond woman kickoff on another table (it was in fact the woman who knocked Trumper of the Malta wpt final table) and im also really tired.  Whilst looking away from the table i go to fold my hand but instead slide a stack of 10 £100 chips over the line instead for a nice £1000 3 bet.  Just as the chips go over the line i realise what ive done and casually slide them back over the line.  I say to the dealer "does that stand?"  He says yes.  I'm resigned to my fate of having 3 bet j9off and probably having to call it off if anybody shoves when Praz Bansi who's sitting to my left advises me to get a floor ruling.  The floor comes over looks at me looks at the situation shakes his head - tells me the bet doesnt have to stand and tells me to be more careful.  Was really grateful to Praz for helping me although on reflection the initial raiser and caller were also pretty happy with the ruling so i probably had the best hand.  Should probably just stick to online poker.
