Michelle is having a pretty sick run in these
lol yes I suppose I am. It's fair to say that DTD is my lucky card room, but if you're going to have a lucky card room, then this is the place to have it!! I ran pretty well all weekend, won my races when I needed to (was only all in 3 times I think all weekend, inc my exit hand). Only made 1 mistake (exit hand) and gifted my chips to the guy who went on to win it. No excuses, just thought he was at it! I was short stack 9 handed, but chip leader when 5 handed, so am pleased with 4th, but also slightly disappointed.
I absolutely love playing at DTD and think it's a real shame there were no updates over the weekend - it felt weird.
Michelle
Knew you would go deep this weekend an even micky wernick went deep! Wow how did he pass those kingS! Well done anyway !
Thanks Pete (I think it's you?)
Yes Mickey's fold was great bearing in mind I had Aces, but not sure you should ever fold kings in that spot. Just shows what a great player he is to have worked it out.

Congrats NLMHNLMHNMLH but...
Chip leader when 5 left and pleased with 4th?
What do you want me to say to that? Expectations are funny things aren't they? I was 4th in chips when we came back for day 2 out of 52 runners and I finished 4th. When we were down to 9 I was short stack and at that point would have been delighted to take 4th. But I then doubled up twice and when we were 5 handed there were 2 of us with fairly even stacks and the chip lead. The guy who went on to win it then knocked out Paul Zimbler and was then also even in chips with us. We were 10 minutes away from a break and I thought a deal may well be mentioned during that break so I should have sat tight and waited, but that didn't happen (up to this point I had refused to consider a deal, but would have reconsidered at the break). I'm kicking myself because I know how to win from that position and I didn't do it. It was a great opportunity and they don't come along too often, so to then go out through an error rather than a beat or a 50/50 is even more gut wrenching. Having said that it happens to everyone and I'm not going to beat myself up over it. It was still a great result.
Yep, I took that bit out of context I suppose. Is a great result. Again.
Congrats.

I'd rather not, but I will if you promise not to use it against me! I had A10 in BB four handed. Guy who went on to win was v aggressive, had no idea of bet sizing etc and he raised to 100k from utg. I re-raised to 275k. He looked at his cards again and I sensed weakness. He had called an all-in from me earlier with A10 and I thought he could well ship here with any Ace, mid pair, even KQ, KJ etc. I'd already worked out when I re-raised that I could easily fold here if he shipped and still have over 600k. Anyway he did ship and before my brain even considered what I should do my mouth had said "call"! Not done that for a long, long time (in the early days I did it a lot). I think I had lost my focus and concentration because the break was coming up, I was thinking about what to do if a deal was mentioned and my husband was also on the bubble of the £150 and was sat right behind me! I was also in seat 1 4 handed and the guy in seat 2 hadn't moved round. It was making me feel uncomfortable because I couldn't see the guy in seat 8 and I was next to act, so never knew when it was on me. At the break I was going to ask Darren (the TD) to create some more room for us, so I could see everything that was going on. I'm not trying to make excuses but I just lost my focus and had too many other things going on and annoying me! Anyway he turned over AK and it was game over!
One things for sure, I will never do it again. I think it is one of my strengths to learn from my mistakes. I very rarely make the same mistake again, especially in poker.
