also confused why the title says set mining?!

Set mining because most at table know I would be raising most pairs but limp complete junk...so it gets more in the pot...OOP against one or two who will get me off nines on any scary board so I dont mind limping...

You don't get more in the pot though. Nobody is ever folding a king here or (probably) a jack and from the flop onwards you know that you weant to build a big pot in this hand.  Checking doesn't build big pots and is just really horrible with sets generally unless it is on a really dry board.  These are the hands where you want to win a big pot and you aren't going to get a big pot without takng the initiative.  With six callers do you really think that nobody has any part of this??

In the live $1-2 games I play regularly slowplaying hands like this is the biggest mistake I see otherwise good players making.  Hands like this they end up winning $40 pots and then losing the $400 pots by calling off stacks with top pair top kicker type crap.

this. / thread.

going for a turn cr is fps and loses a tonne of immediate value and prevents us stacking anyone with any kind of skill.
